Leroux: Hm, sounds like the Steam version might still be better for co-op play then? Then again, even though I think D:OS is said to be more fun in co-op mode, I'd first have to find someone to play with, and as a slow reader and completionist with OCDs, I'm usually not that keen on multiplayer in RPGs anyway, I always feel rushed by the presence of others. So ...
Maybe it's not all that relevant? :D

Anyone played the
Sea Dogs games? It seems Sea Dogs is regarded as a much better game than Caribbean Tales, am I right in assuming that only the latter allows a choice between male and female character though? Also, how do they compare to
Sid Meier's Pirates, also on sale and not in my library yet?
There is crossplay between GOG and Steam version through LAN.
I personally found D:OS way more fun in co-op duo to less micromanaging( 4 inventories with a lot of consumables and crafting materials that you need to distribute between the characters + RPG elements who is the talker/spotter/looter)
Reading isnt a problem in D:OS since in EE everything is voiced(well apart from the books duh). And if you need a co-op buddy hit me up though I have the Steam version.
For Sea Dogs - as long as you are fine playing the game stretched on Full screen because windowed mode is pain( locked in top left corner of the screen + graphical glitches). And also in Sea Dogs you dont have the choice between male/female. On the other hand Caribbean Tales require some tweaking because it can crash... a lot.
