It is possible that it will happen again.

If I remember correctly yesterday deals only had "coming soon" if the game wasn't already being sold on the store - like Terraformers or Hero's Hour, the games that were already being sold the insomnia page showed the base price, I think.

Since the next game is already being sold on GOG and the insomnia page shows coming soon instead of the base price perhaps it will have the same base price error.

Yeah, it looks like games marked for insomnia sale for some reason get a duplicate entry in the store. IE. I own Hero's Hour, yet when it appeared in Insomnia, I could purchase it instead of geting "you own the product" message. I very much suspect the same will happen with KKnD Extreme.
I am confused: did GOG actually give away Dracula Trilogy for free, or did they not?
For a while now, GOG has had a glitch where display prices are sometimes rounded down to the nearest dollar. For games that cost less than $1, that price is Free. The actual price was almost certainly 0.80 cents (USD).

If I had to guess, I'd say the first 300 people to place the trilogy in their carts got to buy it. The rest of us saw the game as available until those first 300 transactions went through, but couldn't place it in our carts because every copy was reserved.

Short version: NO. They wanted to sell it for 92% off.

But the game linked to the insomnia had an end price of 0 most likely because of a bug or the dublicate game page which was a "TBA".

That wasn't what happened here, the bug was on the base price which was set to 0 for some reason, 8% of 0 is 0 so the game was "free".

No one was able to checkout at that price, it showed an "empty cart" error message, even for those who tried right after the game was available.

It looks like the "release date" was not set correctly, and this duplicate Dracula Trilogy entry was never released. So there was no game for the system to sell/give away.
That is the theory; it would be nice to know if anyone has gotten a copy to either prove or disprove this.

Didn't something similar happen a year ago? Where a wrong game appeared instead of the scheduled one due to a configuration error?

You seem very confident. Why are you sure literally no one was able to add the game to their cart? How did you confirm the base price without adding the game to your cart?

I could be wrong (and don't really care either way), but I think a confluence of bugs is at least as likely as a botched release date.

The base price is in the screenshot I shared in the previous page, it's also in the json file.

The insomnia page shows "coming soon" instead of the base price since the beginning https://www.gog.com/en/game/dracula_trilogy_insomnia

Do you really think 300 people bought Dracula Trilogy at the middle of the night (in europe), almost instantly - because I tried right after the deal went live - when most of the games didn't sold out since insomnia started?

Last year pending orders didn't count to decrease the available copies counter until the orders were paid, I'm not sure about this year - specially after the Dracula counter reaching 0 without a report of anyone being able to buy it, but I think that everyone that clicked the purchase button automatically reduced the available copies.

IIRC it was less than a year ago, during the last time GOG had an Insomnia sale. I seem to recall that one of the scheduled Insomnia games did not actually become available for sale at its appointed time due to a glitch.

But someone who remembers that incident better could probably explain it more accurately.

What I remember, I don't know if this is what you are referring to, is the last game of last November Insomnia was only available for a very short time, the game was ΔV: Rings of Saturn and I managed to buy it because I clicked the button before they blocked it and got the pending order which I paid shortly after it was blocked. I think they blocked it because the insomnia sale should have ended instead of having that extra game.

Yes, it was one year ago, and the game was Field of Glory II: Medieval. The main page was screwed up (as you said), but the json correctly updated, IIRC it was possible to copy paste the url in insomniaDetails.insomniaUrl to manually buy it.
