So I just got home from work, only to find out the summer sale ended 20-ish minutes ago. (about 6:00 PM EST)

Pretty f-ing disappointing after building my cart up this past week... I knew today was the end date, but thought there would have been some leniency for different time zones. :(

I recommend GoG take a page from Steam, and wait until the END of the day (i.e 11:59 PM) before axing big sales. I'm sure everyone would appreciate it.

End of day where?
Sale ended at midnight Polish time.

It ended for me Eastern Standard Time, Canada.

What I suggest is leniency for different time zones. So if it ends midnight Polish time zone, maybe add a few more hours for people in other time zones.

So, you want GOG to have a sale that ends at 24 different times around the world?

Try to think of these sales as ending on the weekend. The extra hours is to ensure everyone's weekend has ended when the sale ends.

Also, sorry for your bad luck.

Of course not. But normally with the last day of a sale, you'd expect to have the full day. Just increase the limit so people aren't caught off guard. (if I knew I wouldn't be able to participate past 6:00, I'd have bought everything yesterday)
Have you considered living at the South Pole? I would think then you'd have whatever timezone you wanted. There might even be a job opening.

Thanks, I never really thought of it as a 'weekend sale' but it makes more sense.

There was a sale countdown counter so that you'd know when it was ending.

Sn0wGl0be: *snip*
You've had two weeks.

They had a countdown for the last 48 hours on the front page.

GoG is a Polish company. They operate on their time.

Steam is a Pacific US company. They operate on their time.

(Oh and the south pole operates on New Zealand time.)

If you really want to make this suggestion to GoG staff, you need to do it in either one of these places:

https://support.gog.com/hc

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site

It's just your fellow gamers here with little to no staff involvement.

You're not getting my point. If they make the sale end at the end of the day for you, it doesn't end at the end of the day for someone else.
It's always the end of the day somewhere in the world.

But if they extended it so, say.. 6 PM your time zone, then what about us on the west coast? That would be 3 PM our time. Not enough time to get home from work and make the purchase. And so it would go, as hummer010 noted.

It baffles me as to why people wait to the last minute to make their sale purchases.

*edit* Why are people downvoting this guy? It's not like he's being a troll. C'mon, goglodytes, let's try to be a little more reasonable here.

If that was an option, why didn't you do that in the first place?
