Hey GOG Webmeisters!

Currently to get the notification number to disappear from next to your account button, you have to employ some kind of voodoo witchery that may or may not work (read: I have yet to figure out a consistent way to clear it).

Is there anyway you could add a button somewhere on the account page that would clear the notifications for you?

that thing really bothers me too, sometimes it just won't go away for days.

Just go in and out of games and it should disappear...

Yeah, it's been botched ever since the appearance of the new Star Wars games. Till GOG fixes it, you could try going to the main page and they should clear out.

I've tried both of those, as well as opening the individual games on my shelf.

It's been botched since long before that.
It might even have been broken before the big website 'redesign', I don't remember it working well at any time except maybe during the very beginning of GOG when it was still Good Old Games.
Of course the search function is sh*t as well so I can't find the topics about the issue, but it's definitely been wonky for a long time now. Although it was a lot worse a year or so ago when it would take hours for it to disappear.
Now it usually disappears within five minutes only to re-appear sometime later.

The notifications in general were recently botched. The notifications for the games were botched long before.

Ah alright, since I read somewhere about opening the Game Library page I assumed it was about that notification.
And as we all known, assumption is the mother of all f*ck ups ;)

Recently I have been seeing a big improvement in this issue. Here's hoping it gets totally wiped out!

There was an improvement ; but there was a downside to this improvement

the notification system was cleared much faster than before when you checked it, the downside ,; for a game notification , there's no more specific flag to let you know what's updated.

Since the latest Star Wars ads in front page , the notifcation system doesn't really works well , it's just painfull to use it.

Basically they fixed it (sort of) and broken it again , with the login / sign in buttons in secure pages ..... :(

When I'm on the forum or main page, GOG thinks I have two updates. When I visit my actual library, one of those updates disappears for some reason (one notification on the grey bar at the top of the page), but the little "New and Updated" tab on the top of the game list continues to say I have two updated games.


GOG's update notification has always been botched, but I have no idea why adding the Star Wars games should have broken it even further. I think in another thread a blue said that they were aware of it and trying to fix it, but that it was part of a larger problem, or something.

it is really annoying,

i currently have a 1 for the last 4 days stuck in chat that disappears when i read it but when i visit a different gog page it returns

i know someone who has a had a notifications that 4 games have had been updated for about a month and a half
