I am using OpenMW to run TES: Morrowind on Linux.

I would like to play the game with slightly better textures and models.
Also suggest a mod that would get rid of the irritating levelling system TES games have. Calculating efficient ways of levelling skills breaks immersion for me and feels frustrating.

Also any mod that adds content without significantly altering the vanilla atmosphere is welcome.

Right, trust me on this as someone who has massive selections of mod lists on each of the games. Keep it minimal. I have played each of the games once, and now each time I spend days downloading great lists of mods and never actually playing them through burnout. As you use openmw, that has a list of a few mods which are compatible. I just recently found:

Which is a great resource, and has a total overhaul which adds new textures and models and lots of additions. It is however very boring to spend days downloading and installing it all.
To note, not sure how feature complete versus mgxe openmw is at the moment. I did download a couple of sets of mods as well recently, this one for instance is mgxe based:

Haven’t got round to installing it yet though.
One final thought, I ended up buying a month of premium on nexus as capped downloads and nag screens will really be a headache downloading lots of smaller mods.

I also found out about Modding-Openmw. Their lists seem to be pretty helpful. However, few things confused me. Such as the 'I Heart Vanilla: Director's Cut" list including mods like Skyrim: Home of the Nords.
Also their graphics overhaul list is really large. I would like to be suggested a shortlist of maybe a dozen or so graphical mods that make it look decent enough.

And also some mod that fixes the Levelling system.

If you can't answer a question without deliberately trying to derail every topic (and by post #2 at that), then don't post at all or go find another forum to troll. Try Linoras Leveling Mod for the levelling mod. It eliminates the need to "skill watch".

Yeah the Linora levelling mod posted above is one of the most popular. For textures, you're better off browsing moddb or Nexus as there are too many to list. One I definitely recommend is Real Signposts. It replaces that default "squiggle" you have have to mouse-over with actual readable text.

Edit: Expansion Delay is another one people tend to install. It basically delays being attacked by the Dark Brotherhood every time you sleep right at the start (forced in as the "entry point" for the Tribunal expansion pack) until later in the main quest.

Yes, they have a total overhaul which is 250 mods! Try the other link, the mgxe one, that has rebirth and Tamriel rebuilt as well as head/body replaces and tddys textures. Some of it isn’t compatible with openmw (mgxe of course), but the textures maybe. I have yet to come to any decision on wether openmw/mgxe is the best way forward at the moment, I believe current advice is that mgxe is still preferable, but openmw is catching up.

I would imagine most texture mods would be compatible.
Anything which uses script extender wouldn’t be.

Also, if you change some textures, then there is a likelihood of the rest of it looking worse against the better textures. Could really do with he whole thing being remastered with one vision TBH.

For a purely vanillla experience, at least you want the code patch and unofficial patch.

Is Real Signposts compatible with mods like Tamriel Rebuilt?

One of my favourite mods was called "Rational Wildlife", which made wildlife, well, more rational. Healthy non-predators wouldn't attack you at all, predators only if you would count as prey (large Kagouti might attack, but not Cliffracers). "Diseased" animals would be more aggressive, "Blighted" animals all attack on sight (insane...).

The mod seems to be "extinct", but if anyone knows of a proper replacement... It makes travelling Vvardenfell really less annoying and more immersive.

Sorry, I don't know. I've never used that Tamriel mod and the comments section on Nexus doesn't mention it either.
