Waaaaay back in the 90s when I was young, a PC Zone or PC Games cover disk had a demo of a game which periodically comes back to haunt me. I cannot for the life of me remember what it's called and hope that someone out there can stitch my partial recollections into an answer.
- It was a 16-bit puzzle game with digitized speech, colourful VGA graphics, and some incidental animations (smoke rising, buttons flashing, etc).
- Each level is viewed side-on. You had to make your way across platforms, crates, and pits towards the exit of each level. Each level in the demo was a single screen.
- You could play a parody of Schwarzenegger, van Damme, or Clint Eastwood.
- There were crates and stationary green alien drillers blocking your way. The aliens sounded like Michael Caine.
- Some of the crates slid or exploded. When these killed the little aliens, there would usually be a little interaction. Once, when van Damme shot one, he said "hello you funny little green guy!" The alien blew him a raspberry, so he said "goodbye, you funny little green guy" and blew him away.
- When dropping a crate on an alien it would bounce repeatedly as it crushed him, with Caine exclaiming "bloody- bloody- Bloody- BLOODY!"
- I seem to recall that you could solve each puzzle without killing anyone, if you gave it a little more thought.
Does this ring any bells with anyone, or am I losing it?
