Hi everyone, i'm new to this website and this is the first game I've downloaded. I use to play Stronghold Crusader all the time on my old computer, then i got a Mac book pro and haven't been able to play it plus a lot of other games. But i just bought the game and downloaded it, installed it, but when i tried to open the game it gave me a “Stronghold Crusader Classic is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.". Has anyone had this problem before or know how to fix it?

The problem

OS X has a new security feature called Gatekeeper. Gatekeeper is enabled by default and prevents applications distributed outside of the Mac App Store from launching.

Launching such application results in the error: "<Application> is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."

The workaround

Open Gatekeeper settings located in "System Preferences > Security & Privacy"
Set "Allow applications downloaded from:" to "Anywhere" and confirm by pressing "Allow From Anywhere"
Download, unpack and run the profiler application
Once an application is successfully launched, it no longer goes through Gatekeeper. Thus you can restore Gatekeeper settings to the default option "Mac App Store and identified developers" after successfully launching the profiler

I think it helps any games that you run later

A different way is to right-click <Stronghold Crusade>.app and click open. You will be asked for confirmation.
