Haha, I do actually like Win 10, but I'm not sure it's the OS of choice for tablets or that MS will be making a comeback...

I also like win10, and I enjoy having the same OS on my desktop and my tablet. Being able to install any soft on both, to hop from one machine to the other easily, etc.

Although, to be true, I never use win10's tablet mode on my tablet. Completely useless feature, in my opinion.

What's wrong with liking Win 10? Not all of us can be bothered pretending to be Linux/XP hipsters.

Does Microsoft actually need to make a "comeback"? I know they are not beloved by millions of zombies worldwide like Apple, but I thought they're doing fine regardless.

I may be entirely wrong- I don't really care much how companies are doing, I don't follow news about softwoare, hardware and new gadgets- I'm just about the dumbest end-user you can find. ME PLAY GAMES. That's about it :P

Aside from the fact that as a grumpy old gamer I am allowed, nay, bound to complain about UI changes (I'm too old to relearn that stuff). The OS continues that MS tradition of dumbing things down.

Which, you know, is probably fine for the walking disaster also known as the average user.

Me, I don't like it. But I also dislike these newfangled screens. In my day we had 16 colors and EGA graphics, and debugging was something done with DDT.

Anyway, I lost all hope for a worthy Win7 successor by MS, by now.

Win10 market share is terrible for a forced previously-free OS, but probably many people will cave in, at a certain point.
(basically, when they'll need to buy a new pc)

I feel 10 is better than 8, but still a bit awkward. I will say that anyone who dislikes the Office suite is stupid. Word is the, YOU KNOW.

I don't know about that (at least here most sold tablets seem to be Android, and I guess some still buy iPads too), but as far as I know MS is doing great e.g. with its Azure clouds and stuff. So it isn't like MS is going anywhere right now, but their focus may be changing somewhat over time.

And yeah people are still buying PCs too, especially laptops. It is not like an Android or iOS tablet can do everything well.

I am not strongly for or against Windows 10. I don't necessarily like how it has apparently taken some control out of the users' hands (like whether and when to install updates, etc.), but I can live with it when it comes preloaded with my next laptop.

To this day I'm still convinced I did the right thing by not updating to Windows 10.
I'm not deluded enough to think Microsoft is going anywhere. Its stranglehold over the PC market is still absolute. However said market has shrunk considerably as new alternatives to the classic personal computer pop up for the "cashul" user.

Basically I'm saying that Microsoft has been downgraded from "da biggest an' ztrongest warboss" to a "puny" ork nob.

However the idea of an almost-laptop-like tablet with Windows 10 appeals to me. More so if the device is dual boot. What do you guys think of the teclast or chuwi 2in1 tablets?
