I don't know what makes me more sad, the fact that the game did leak before release after all or that the DRM is working.
This was bound to happen so why are you upset? CDPR wont use any drm (besides that whole day 1 patch shenanigans) and the only thing they can do is sue the uploader but since that usually never happens, meh, just live your life and ignore that.
Pirates are gonna pirate no matter what. I do believe nowadays this thingy gives a popup saying: 'If you enjoyed this game, please consider buying it to support the developers' or something along those lines.

Why give this site internet traffic? Hide the link.
developers are telling people in torrent sites to buy the game when they should be addressing their loyal customers asking about the graphic downgrade but its ok.

It will be fine. every game is pirated. Gamers love CDPR thats what really matters.
I just wished I could play the game now, after all I have a legal copy on gog all preloaded.. I guess it's the only thing good about being a console peasant in remotest parts of the world, you get leaked [censored] copies :\
Back in the day piracy was about 'cracking', not uploading DRM free software, shame on them if this is true.

there is no graphic downgrade. I really hate that word and it pisses me off. Everything prior to game release is a work in progress and subject to change. It does not reflect the full product, but apparantly people forget this. Only if you receive the game and your graphics get worse by a future patch, you can speak about downgrade.
yep in the last part they say "if you like the game buy it"(is like enter a house and left and IOU paper) and in the comments they say is a gog version and you only have to wait to day one patch to play

wat?

so it's not willfully misleading then? that what is 2 years old is of seemingly higher quality than what is current? even if you don't think there is any intentional misinformation going on, it doesn't strike you as odd at all that the stuff from years ago surpasses the stuff now?

personally, I don't care about the graphical downgrade. while I lament the loss of the higher options for those who have the hardware to run it fine, I think perhaps that alongside those asset lod tweaks and shader configuration number reductions were tweaks and optimizations to the rendering engine that make it more agreeable to being run well with weaker hardware, so that some people who might not have had the ability to run the game before at acceptable framerates now can. the downside to that is that in this build of the engine it now may no longer be capable of reaching the detail level it once did. I don't know. we'll see what the modders can do once the game comes out. so while my personal preference is to have the game more accessible to people and I'm fine with a graphical reduction, others who aren't do a valid gripe when CDPRED already made something look a certain way for a certain takeaway from doing that.

this vertical slice madness needs to stop.

when they show you something and then it looks worse that means graphic downgrade. i won't sue them i'ts fine you don't need to give me the legal explanation. it's about trust and communication. people preorder the game based on what they see, if the game then changes and the developer doesn't admit it, it may piss people off.

well it's even easier this way.

sorry for going off topic
They have spoken out about it often enough. I rather have a stable version of a game than a game that requires a $5000 pc only elitists can afford. It's a balancing act. In order to make the game run stable, some compromises are needed.

Also, until you have played the game, you can't make any statements to begin with.

THIS THIS THIS!!

They are not going to make any difference at all telling pirates to "please, buy if you can", that might make the developers feel better but statistically I don't think it makes any difference especially considering the rumours that there has been 1 million pre-orders.

Not adressing the graphics downgrade is poor PR too and that might affect sales on a grand scale. Personally? I'm not worried but as a company they really should release a comment about it.

I don't think a computer costing more than $1500 will be needed for Ultra, let alone 600-1000$ to play at High with decent framerates. I agree it's a pity everyone can't play but it's a new game and graphics is a good selling point. If you can't afford the necessary hardware now, you just need patience.
