thta still sucks. i know the feeling. Sachys blocked my ass after being such good friends. it still makes me sad just typing it. i miss the jerk.

A) I tend to use "crap" for "stuff". Personal foible, causes misunderstanding sometimes. Like in this case.

B) Pretty sure I'm never going to equate content-blocking on a game forum to rape.

C) What I'm essentially saying is (okay, not "essentially" - it IS what I'm saying) is there are ways of doing it automatically - one that goes no farther than the individual user (JerkMuter, which you assumed I was talking about) and one that affects all users (negrep and spam report) - and there are ways to take a mindful personal approach to possibly make a small change for the better for oneself, to actually consider the content and react accordingly, and to give the benefit of the doubt when someone is being helpful (or at least not being a complete turd). For a small number around here, being a turd is the default mode. Being rude is the default mode. But even for them, there are occasional nuggets or helpfulness and politeness. If you don't want to sort through the turds to find the nuggets of good, then go nuts with your individual blocking script and PM blocking. That shouldn't bother anyone, but I think it does cause one to miss out on some good content here and there.

I do find it ironic that some of the folks championing the blocking script(s) are some that I consider to be purveyors of turd-dropping around here. But they also make good contributions elsewhere and I appreciate that particular content.

Uh... yea, I know it's not him. Like I said, I blocked him over 6 months ago. It appears he didn't take it well and have since developed an unhealthy obsession with me. I'm sure he's telling you how I'm gearing up to murder him in his sleep. The truth is, I don't much care. The whole point of the ignore feature is to not have to think about the people you remove from your life. I'm sorry he's obsessing, but there isn't all that much I can do about it.

like for instance this post is a great case in point. it's offensive, mean and hurtful. does that mean i'm gonna mark it as spam? no. will i neg rep it? no b/c he/she knows what it is and doesn't need the reminder. and besides, rep is stupid and this point. look at this thread and you can see that.

does ciomalau have some hurt in their heart? probably. is lashing out at forum members gonna bring comfort to it? no, it will not.

Anyway, this whole thing is endlessly hilarious. Alaric spends days spamming the forum with pointless "soon" threads that end up deleted as spam, then proceeds to whine about his spam threads being deleted, and now has Crewdog up in arms over that as well. The guy is a spammer and is impossible to have any discussion with, since he just blocks everyone he doesn't like, making a proper forum discussion impossible. Fuck him, and the smug fake outrage horse he rode in on. I don't think I've ever seen him do anything here other than try to inflate his ego by generating some drama.
