Nah, and now judging just by the number of the follower, not a major presence there. But as he himself wrote, It really sucks because there are some good people in the community.

On another note, if Linko not issue a response here we can assumed the worst has happened. Being doxxed is not a trivial thing.
It wasn't even an apology, and it made them more mad. It's perfect.
Somehow the mob is always the others.

Anyway I would not object to GOG doing some slightly sexist Twitter feeds if only I could also command their Twitter account for a single day and send some rants of my own. I would have some ready.
Actually I can't believe there are still people talking about this under their "apology" tweet. I just can't imagine being this angry over a tweet. It's pretty pathetic.
Here gog goes again, apologizing for the 4th (or was it 3rd, i lost count) after a simple tweet.
Don't tweet or don't apologize.
Your apologies make you look bad in front of a lot of customers that are tired of this perpetually offended nonsense.
So, another tweet gone wrong and everyone loses their shit. And I'm not entirely sure what the problem is. Now, you can say it's distasteful and i'd agree it is pretty tasteless to coopt someone elses serious hashtag to sell your own shit. But, transphobic? I don't get how it can be seen as against or to persecute trans people, more insensitive.

But then social media drama always seems to be infantile. It's all "Teacher! Teacher! I don't like what Billy did! Punish him! Punish him!"

The consequence of all this is "The Gamers" movies have been removed from the store because the producers didn't like the tweet saying:

"Please immediately cancel our contract and remove all of our films from your platform, until such time as your social media manager has been fired, a genuine apology has been made, and your replacement social media staff has received training in basic human decency. We cannot do business with a company that doesn't take human rights and human dignity seriously. Additionally, if you personally feel discomfort with the actions of the team managing your social media account, I highly encourage you to speak up."

The thing is as I understand Linko is the tweeterer. So If GOG gives in to their demands and fires him then we'll have no moderator *shudder*. If that happens GOG help us all...

Because patterns.

You make one tweet like that. That's insensitive. And that's not that big of a deal. Ideally someone doing PR should be aware of these things, but at the end of the day it's just an error in judgement, whatever.
You remove the post and apologize. At this point as a rational human being you'd think about what happened and how you've caused that reaction. You consider if what you did was maybe wrong. Even if concepts like decency don't matter, you evaluate whether conjuring up a situation like that again might be a bad idea in a business sense.

That should be the end of it.

Yet here we are.

At this point it's somewhat safe to assume whoever is in charge of the company's account either doesn't care about certain minorities or is the dumbest cunt in existence.
Pardon me, but I have nothing to say.

Nice to see there are still people taking George Carlin's "how to keep people on their toes" advice ;)
IMHO GoG should focus on making their storefront usable again instead of hijacking random twitter hashtags.

lolplatypus: Because patterns.
What patterns ? they make dozens if not hundreds of similar post, taking some random hashtags, some random gifs or random meme and makes a comment about DRM-free or old games using it.

That's it, that's your pattern. 99% of the time nobody cares (and honestly 99% of the time the "joke" is not really funny), but sometime they use the wrong gif or the wrong hashtags and some goes peoples goes berserk.

They probably didn't thought that an innocuous sounding hashtag like "wontbeerased" would be a nuclear power keg and when they discovered it they immediately removed the tweet.

Like I said last time, given how stupidly volatile the current climate is, especially on twitter with peoples having nothing better to do then taking every single word you post out of context to see if there is anything they could be offended by, it's a dangerous things to do, every single hand gesture, gifs or word can become a "hate symbol" without warning and unless you have always up to date on the current twitter drama (especially the US based ones) those kind of "mistakes" are bound to happen.

Maybe their "concentrate on games" comments will mean they will stop trying to be the next Wendy and will only post gaming related news on their Twitter from now on.

CMOT70: Jesus Christ. What we need is a bloody good war or something again. Something to cause millions of lost lives and suffering and poverty to give these sensitive new age types a sense of perspective again.

Anyway, before hitting that downrep button, I'll have you know that I'm a Black Transgendered Jew. With red hair. That identifies as female on odd weeks and male on even weeks (so I can play football on both teams). So anything negative you say against me makes you every word that ends in "ism" and "phobic".
I just pictured a bunch of man bun soy boys and trannies taking to the trenches. It gave me a good giggle, I'm not going to lie. As extreme as it is, I kind of agree. Something big needs to weed out the weak and give the rest a good sense of reality.
inb4 we get a response from gog at every other website other than the gog forums like before.

inb4 poppy starts to post smokescreen threads to kill the activity off this

It's not that hard to connect the dots as to who made the post on twitter search works still.

Just apologize and get a move on .

TARFU: Perhaps...we are seeing the implosion of GOG?
That, or they know something nobody else does.

My money is on implosion, but I'd be interested to know how well the new game is selling.

It's the CEO that needs firing.
