Good luck with this, it's a tough call.

Monster Magnet as suggested, while old school heavy riffers, are sadly laughable now. Earlier albums are good.

Queens of the Stone Age have gone down another similar path, the first few albums were riff heavy and damn good, the last one I listened too featured ELTON JOHN and I don't need to tell you anymore about that, or the other weak spin offs..

You could try Ministry, I am experimenting with them now, but I was warned they sound nothing like they used to either....

Let me know what you come across as I would be most interested.
