Any updates on this?

I will get the game and prefer GOG over steam
Yes it would be really nice to know if this will come to gog. The same for Hearts of Iron IV.
I won't buy any paradox game until the sequel is out. They have the nasty habit of flooding games with DLCs.

AFAIK us goggers are all filthy pirates to the common Paradox user & Paradox would indeed end up in a universe ending paradox if they dare to program something to be used outside of steam.

I sure hope I'm wrong. I watched an Angry Joe preview of him playing this and it looks really nice.

May 9 is almost upon us and still no sign of it coming to GOG. :( Please don't make me get this on Steam...
Man, I'm really jonesing for this. I keep hovering over that pre-order button. I've never pre-ordered anything in the digital era, but those 5 new races are tempting, even if they are only cosmetic.
GOG needs more space games! Does Stellaris have a chance of showing up here?
Good question. anyone?

You know. Change does not come in a big bang unless its about creating a universe. It starts small with each of us. You do not like to get that game on steam? Do tell Paradox (please be polite) and do not buy that game unless it gets released steam (or other online DRM) free.

If everybody who dislikes getting it on steam would do so the chances are pretty high Paradox would come to their senses. But otherwise? Why bother if ppl getting it there regardless of their preferences.

... play that in the background while reading :P

Pretty sure Cities Skylines was fully Steam integrated with the moddability/workshop. I'd assume the same for Stellaris.

Edit:
Looks like it was answered already in an FAQ:

Is there a non-Steam version?

No. You will receive a Steam key/require Steam no matter where you buy your copy of the game. Even physical distributions will require Steam.

Damn, I was so hopping to see these games here soon. So probably it won't happen anytime soon then.

Really itching for Cities: Skylines and looking at Stellaris gameplay it seems like the best 4x game to date.

The game's €40 actually, unless you were looking at the special editions (neither of which are €60 xD)

Personally I'm thinking Endless Space 2 have a chance of battling it out with the great classics. After all Endless Space almost could already. :)

haha yeah :)
I did visit paradox site yesterday, and couldn't bother to check the prices anymore today since the game isn't coming to gog :)
