ashwald: I don't know. I've personally stopped using the site a while ago, since I never really felt confident with synching my game account with it and I've changed my steam email too so I can't exactly check. Still, a week might be giving scammers a little too much leeway to possiby exploit codes. Making new friends or having interesting random conversatons while doing a trade is something I always look forward to. :)
We are talking about steamGIFTS and not steamTRADES, right? The way I see it there is already enough precautions to bring the amount of scammers to a acceptable minimum. The GOG gift club has some requirements of it's own, pretty much the same people enter almost every GA, so you know the people. And in the end it's luck - if a scammer got to enter the group and won the prize - good for them! Everyone had an equal shot at it :) I'm happy when my games go to people who will actually play and enjoy them, not hoard them just because they are free.
