Phantasy Star IV is rarely mentioned when talking about the best of the JRPG Golden Era. Which is a shame, because it's right up there with Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger. The relative unpopularity of the game is mostly due to being on the less popular console of the time not known for RPGs, and the 100$ price tag(!). Phantasy Star IV still holds up pretty well even today.

I agree with you :) I only played it on emulators, but it's an amazing game. I like specially how it handles cutscenes.
