TwisterBE: Whats bothering me lately is that some people join a lot of giveaways, but never end up playing the game. There is a person who won over 8 GOG giveaways in a month and haven't played a single one of it. I understand that time is short and you can end up with a serious backlog, but it's frustrating to see the games go to waste.

Note that this post is't aimed at anyone particularly. Just something to consider when you enter a giveaway.

Mrstarker: At least on Steamgifts people add the games to their library and might play it later. On GOG giveaways there are gifts that just sit there unredeemed.
Whaaat? There are people who don't redeem their codes?!! I'd personally just give the code to someone else after two weeks of (not excused) non-redeeming!!

Nah, taking a gift back seems like an asshole thing to do.

Well, I would at least state that in all my giveaways. Or write to the winner after a while when seeing the gift is still not redeemed. Don't think that's an "asshole thing" to do, you do the giveaways so people can play the games, not bunker the gift codes :D

I bought a dozen copies of Deus Ex and am giving the away all around. If I send a code and the receiver doesn't redeem it, I probably will send it to someone else. Not because I am annoyed for not redeeming it, but because I have no way to track which codes I have already sent. If I want to give one away, I go to my gifts section and pick an unredeemed one. If I had sent it to someone else and they didn't redeem it, tough luck to them.

Same, although to a lesser extent (as I have less codes), with other games.

The Problem is certain times if you get a key, steam will activate your key, but don't show it on your profile. Serious San HD 2nd episode, Galactic Civ I CE, and Miner Wars Arena, all didn't show on my profile. Miner wars & galactic still don't show on it.

Not sure about Gal Civ and Miner WA, but for SS 2nd enc. HD all you need to do is to install the game and run it for a couple of minutes. ;)

I'm not really a big fan of conditions on giveaways, which is why I don't put up rep, age or CV barriers. The only requirement is usually a bit of creativity. As far as I'm concerned, after I give a game away, the gift belongs to the receiver and they are free to do what they want with it. Of course I'd rather they played the game, but I think that setting up conditions is against the spirit of gifting.

I do agree with you, but then again I want the ones receiving the gifts to be considerate and to be respectful.
I'm glad that the games I've gifted till now have all been redeemed :)

Thats against the SG rules in the context of this thread and the GA's on it though - and is one of the more debated topics in regards to the club - that is, people not redeeming the games they've won / trading them etc.

On SG there's a rule already in place, whether you agree with it or not. Nothing to debate there, really. But on GOG giveaways people often ask whether they can regift it to someone else or enter in someone's place.

high rated
Idon'tknowwhattosay - big THANK YOU to K_1269 for Dragon Age. :)

edit: Because I won this amazing game, I feel like I need to give something back. So here it is, not as great as DA, but still very good. Whoever wins this, I'll hope he/she will enjoy it.
