Hey everybody!

I have some news regarding custom rules in giveaways.

The SG support staff has said that they will not re-roll on giveaways where a custom rule has been broken (one they did not pre-approve of).

In light of this it has been decided to remove custom rules for this group - as the gifter could actually get banned from SG for refusing to give a game to a winner who had not followed a set rule.

So from this moment, no custom rules can be enforced - only official SG rules.

Sorry to everyone who had fun with these rules.


However if a user is breaking the official SG rules (such as reselling, trading etc. his wins), then please continue to report them to both SG and to me here.

I don't see the point of enforcing a "no custom rules can be enforced" rule.... SG support says they will not re-roll where a custom rule has been broken if that rule was not pre-approved by support. So anyone who gets a rule approved by support should be welcome to use that rule, am I wrong?

The one rule I'll miss is the one about "don't enter if you own a big part of the bundle". It's basic manners, if you ask me.

Except my recent world schedule. I just noticed I have 0 time played on the last 2 weeks on steam, and it's not like I've been playing that many GOGs either.

SG Support won't re-roll in case if a group rule is broken. I have an issue before, asked for a re-roll and got this from SG Support (5 days later...):

"Unfortunately we can only approve new winner requests for giveaways with rules that have been pre-approved by support before the giveaway was created.

Extraneous/special rules for giveaways require moderator approval. Public giveaways cannot have any special rules: http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/91wob/faqrules-and-guidelines

All users who are entered in the giveaway are eligible to win granted that they were a member of the group at the time the giveaway ended and that they haven't violated any of SteamGifts policies."

And in Day 6, another reply later, after explaining that the rule I used was not extraneous, and actually quite popular among groups (I used "Must have done at least one giveaway for GOG.com Gift Club "V3") with this link: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/GOGGIFT#announcements/detail/1858014305150076151

"As previously mentioned, special rules need to be approved by us in order to be used by you in your private/group giveaways. The rules you mention are internal group rules that the GOG Club has and they need to be resolved without the need for us to interfere.

In other words, they won't help at all. So for everyone I say, just make sure to solve any possible problem before the giveaway ends.
