I hope I didn't come off in the wrong way in my follow-up to the giveaway, since it was written over a period of time and when I finally posted it, I had been up for too long. I am not sure if I get the right messages across or if I even wrote the right messages. In short, I may or may not contradict myself several times. Opinions are a complicated thing.

Some things and attitudes were broad forth in the specific case, that changed my stance from what I had originally written somewhat and I didn't incorporate those specifics. I tried to generalize it to not make it about that one case, but that may not have come through well enough. I believe that the wishes of the gifter must be upheld, just like you would in a forum giveaway. If you can't spend the time to do, what the gifter asks, you don't put your heart into it and should not enter. I just ask that the gifter makes it something personal and fun, that makes the participant want to do it, and which at the same time weeds out automatic entries.

I know, but the whole kerfuffle got really negative and ugly, really fast.
For me, this is more about the mood here. I want it to be warm and welcoming, but it went on a downward spiral of negativity. I sadly had to partake in the negativity and contributed to it. :-(

I don't want someone criminalized publicly for small stuff. Slip ups do happen.
However, I do want those who just seek to exploit the kindness to go away.
