K_1269: Also, on topic: jonleh you marked Fable, which you won in my last giveaway, as received, but havn't redeemed it to your account. As I havn't heard anything from you ( not even a thanks) but you seem to be online plenty, I'll report you nexttime I log into steamgifts, if it still isn't redeemed and in your steamaccount by then.
You have to give them 7 days from the time the giveaway has ended to add the game to their account before reporting them. Mods won't do a thing until the 7 days are up.
But if you give them another chance after the 7 days are up, chances are they'll keep abusing it or hiding behind the guise of not knowing the rules. Sure, they might not know the rules but you report them once, they'll know the rules then and there and not take the chance to get perma banned if that matters to them.
You give them a break, and they may abuse the next win when that gifter may not know their past history and give them another chance and so on.
As I've said before, I had 2 winners of my giveaways here suspended. One was just for a week and the other seems to be permanent due to multiple violations. I'm glad I looked into both of their histories and just ended up reporting them eventually despite trying to work it out with them at first. The guy suspended for just a week is still in the GOG group and entering giveaways which is not sitting right with me but I don't make the rules. The other guy is probably still in the group but since he is banned from SG, he's not an issue.
You guys have to do your part to check the users account before sending the gift to make sure they don't have the game already cuz then they'll just use it in a trade or sell it. And then after 7 days, you have to check the account again to make sure the game has been activated in their account. If the person has made the account hidden from you by then, you need to tell them you'll be reporting them unless they show you the game is in their account.
There are abusers aplenty all thru SG and GOG group is no exception. This group is very open and very naive/forgiving to those who don't play nice and thats fine since thats how its been ever since I've joined and how you all seem to want it. I'm not in a position to make changes but I'd be curious to know the percentage of group members who basically got the required number of rep to join the group and then we never heard from them again in the forums. I mean it doesn't sit right somebody abused Ian for Bioshock Infinite but if that person abused another giveaway win before and wasn't reported, its not doing any favors to Ian or the rest of this community. The rules to get into the group are very lax, the rules to stay in even more so so that leaves it ripe for this kind of increasing activity.
