Hey guys, did anyone noticed something strange happening with contributor levels lately?
I was Level 3 with 3.01. And the other day I noticed it has fallen down to 2.98. I made another giveaway and instead of it going up it actually went to 2.95. WTF, this is madness?!?!
Didn't get anything helpful from SG support, some dude told me...

When prices of the games in the Steam store drop, your CV goes down. This is very likely to be the reason why you've lost a level.

Further to what Asbeau said, if something you've given away in the past gets bundled, your CV goes down too.

I stand corrected. I was under the impression that the drop in CV even occurred if you gave the game away before it was bundled. I just went and re-read steamgifts FAQ, and you are 100% correct.

What you said, Asbeau is all true, but as you can see from list of games I've given away and the list that were added to DB as bundled recently that just didn't happen in my case.
And even if let's say a game I gave away previously got a price drop, that could explain my CL dropping to 2.98, but how on Earth did it drop to 2.95 after I gave another game which was marked as received?!?

Oh, a nice mystery. According to SGTools, you should be level 3. i looked at some random users from the general population and all but one matched what SGTools gave (the one that didn't also was a level lower than apparently should be). I looked at some users who had given away that Pac-Man game, and no problem with them. It's a shame SG itself doesn't explicitly gave the CV for each game as a sidenote, but perhaps that would take too much resources?

Have you synced with SGTools and see what it gives you? I wonder if their support might be more interested to look into the discrepancy.

Finally someone at SG answered something that could make sense, but I can't believe they are pushing in effect something that happened 3 years ago...

So, I got curious as to why your level isn't syncing according to sgtools and it appears your Avencast: Rise of the Mage giveaway was on created on the same day it was being given for free on Greenmangaming. On February 26th, 2014.

So, most likely, you created a giveaway for a game you got for free and have been getting at least bundled CV for it up until we implemented the new reduced CV and no CV update. This would also be why you are still level 3 on sgtools, because that website hasn't been updated to fully reflect the changes to ours.

It's not that my level bothers me so much, I just hate that feeling when someone is taking something from you that you know you got fair and square (following the rules that were active at that moment in the past). My sense of righteousness just gets me into hot-tempered mood sometimes (actually a common "feature" of Balkan people xD).
I have created another giveaway and will see that the effect will be on my CL soon. It's a 15P game and should get me above 3.00 I guess. If any new crazy shit happens I'll let you guys know.
