babark: Got about 9 hours left and giveaways that could do with some love!

The Stanley Parable is....hard to describe, but worth it. It really is!

And I shouldn't have to describe System Shock 1 and 2...haven't got around to 1 yet, but suffice it to say, 2 is one of the few games in recent times that I eagerly played from start to finish, and that's a rare thing for me. Currently your chances are 50% to win it, or it goes to Gothmasticator if no one else enters:

Thank you! And now, a poem:

System Shock, O System Shock
How greenly grow your branches
Like a bird who better days has seen
I mow you down with my mochine

Cheers!

babark: Tell your friends? :D
Need one more for Day of the Tentacle to get an even 5! Come on, people! This was supposedly the greatest adventure game of the 20th century (according to pcgamer or some such thing..while it's great, I always felt that honour fell to Monkey Island 2 :D). Where are all the point and click fanatics who are short on money?
I don't think it's a question of how good the game is. It's more a question of it having been bundled before, and out for a while, so odds are pretty good for almost everyone having it already.

I've given up on being bothered about the 5 entries so I can get CV. The group isn't big enough (nor active enough for that matter) to ensure such things. It would be lovely if we reformed the rules a bit so it wasn't filled with people who largely just leech instead of giving away games more often than they just grab and grab and grab, but instead promoted activity, and made a big recruitment drive here on gog somehow so we could kickstart this thing.

Ah well, at least we can be thankful that trentonlf hasn't given up on the group yet.

In the case of the 3 giveaways I created, I made sure to select only games that had more than 10 people in the gog group who had wishlisted it, meaning there were 11 people who wanted each of those games. Obviously, that wasn't a good enough criteria.
I'm not quite sure leeching is really an issue here, because it seemed the exact opposite, that people were afraid of ruining their gift difference with a game they might want, but probably don't want as much as if some other, much more popular game showed up. I know that I've been a victim to that sort of thinking before, and unfortunately I don't have a solution to it- I mean, the way it is set up now, you're motivated to make a lot of giveaways, and at one point it doesn't matter if you win 1 game, or you win 10 games, your gift difference limit is very high.

I agree that focusing on CV is probably not beneficial for anyone giving away in this group (or really, anyone with a mind to be generous and be giving away games in general), but that is a bit disappointing. Perhaps some rule could be set up about allowing whitelist entrants of a certain amount or something, or if a game doesn't have x amount of entries until the last couple hours or whatever.

I think you both hit the nail on the hammer :)
