hucklebarry: Add on to the that the brand new account someone used just to call him out (while hiding behind their anonymity) and I'd say shenanigans were definitely involved.

I'm a huge supporter of rules, and that means enforcing them both where they are present and where they are absent. If nothing governs his ratio outside of this group, it shouldn't be a deterrent to entrance. We already have a ton of games go un-won because this small group already owns them. As long as they can follow the group rules, I see no reason not to let them in. I most certainly enter for games outside of this group that I don't enter for within. If that is a problem, I'm sure many of us would need to leave.

Azrael360: Don't worry, I agree with you. And the way I see things, anyone can always re-request an invite once they have the required REP and show more activity around here. If they follow the rules of the group (which, by the way, are not hard to follow), I don't see a problem for them to join. More people in the group is what we need, after all ;)
I can say attest that camplify had 50 rep when he applied for admission to the group and did not break that rule. I'm not sure why his/her rep dropped. I can say that mine has dropped some as well these last couple of weeks too.

It is my favorite Holiday, of course I have 7 kids so there is that :) This year at the request of my oldest son, I went to a Halloween party dressed as John Wick. I shaved my beard like John Wick, wore black on black on black and he made me a rather nice looking gun out of LEGO™ He makes guns that actually shoot LEGO™ bricks, but he took off the rubber bands to make it look more authentic.
Firstly, seven kids??? One of the dev's I work with has 7- it's a rare thing these days so god bless you! :-)

As to the costume - that sounds amazing! Any pix??

Some days ago he contacted us via PM and we replied to him. After checking all the facts (SteamGifts Tools included) and his activity here on GOG, we think that he can join the group very soon if he shows more signs of activity around here and ask again soon and follow the rules. That REP thing was really confusing, but I'm sure he wasn't downrepped first in this thread, and was in fact somewhere else in the forums but I couldn't find where it was or the reason. That day (Oct 26) when he requested to join I only saw posts from him with 47 REP and they weren't marked as "low rated", just normal posts in this thread. Only days later I noticed the low rated posts here.

Since you and babark say he was indeed with 50 REP by the time he requested to join, I believe both of you, and also believe that he must have been downrepped pretty fast by the time I saw his posts a few hours later. Unfortunately, his tight REP on GOG and "win/givs done" ratio on SteamGifts must have played against him and didn't look so good around these parts. But as I said, if he really wants to join the group and promise to follow the rules, I don't see any problem if he joins. In a few days more he can request again. Now all depends on him.

Az, I agree that our rules are our rules - entry, GA's percentages etc... however... I blacklist SG members with such horrible ratios on a regular basis. Yes, not everyone can gift with regularity - I get that. But leeching is leeching - pure and simple. There are plenty of ways to gift and there is simple restraint - play what you've won and stop entering GA's when you've won way, way more than you've gifted. I know my personal policy isn't for everyone but sigh, greediness pisses me off. I stopped gifting here on GOG because of a few greedy people. I almost never make my SG GA's less than level 4 and even then I still have leechers entering - if they thank me and they are not at plus 60to 70% won to gifted, I let them pass. If not then they get blacklisted. This guy is just looking for another group to leech from - sad to say but if I were a mod of this group I'd tell him to come back when his ratio was less than utterly deplorable. Anyway, just my opinion...

Somehow, that doesn't look right to me. This is just my opinion, though. It's just me talking, it's 4 AM over here and can't sleep... so maybe it's just me being tired and talking nonsense (:P)

I love you guys and this group. You're a bunch of good, friendly and generous people. Most of the GOG members are. That's why when I see that kind of downrepping, it doesn't look right to me. Because he was just asking (and did it nicely), and nothing else. He got an answer back then, his request was rejected, and that's it. The downrepping was... unnecessary.

So please, try to keep that kind of downrepping to a minimum, if possible. We don't want to look like the bad guys, right? Because we aren't, and after all these years, I know that for sure without a doubt.

Sorry for the honesty, and also sorry if look like I'm talking incoherences. Usually in the night I get kind-of-philosophical... especially if I'm lacking some good and refreshing rest... ...ZZZzzz (—_—)
We all know rep is broken to death (look mine , if the system was working properly i should have 1K+ .. i don't care now.......) , GOG doesn't give a SHIT, and let the community be ruined by a bunch of TURDS, i mark well my words , because those are just assholes. (sorry for the language).

So , i suggest multiple factors should be taken in account when someone want to join & has a very low rep (below 50) , join date & be recommended by 2 or 3 peoples.

just my 2 cents. (maybe not the best idea).

*sigh* If my rep keeps dropping I will probably stop doing giveaways again and go on another hiatus. I realize that rep is a meaningless number, but I also don't like high school antics and drama and that's what derepping is. The sad part is I know GOG is a wonderful place full of awesome people, but the negativity makes it hard to stay involved.

Maybe it's the alcohol and I'll feel different tomorrow.

I believe your opinion is super valid, and I appreciate your honesty, really. And you may be right. Of course I will take this in consideration, because rules are rules, and they're there because of the leeching problem we had for a very long time. Hopefully, new members will follow them so we can maintain the harmony in the group. And if they do not, then they will be banned. Period ;)
