JunglePredator: It's the sega virtua fighter 2.....
Asbeau: I don't get it - is there a non-Sega Virtua Fighter 2?
Depends on your definition I guess. :-p There are non-sega companies that developed ports & stuff.
However I was using the word sega to mean sega genesis. Which is the one in the bundle Vs. the arcade/PC one.
The arcade/PC one is a nice, even including it's age, 3D technical fighter. It's in stock on amazon right now; $5 USD. Well worth it.
The sega genesis one is a 2d fighter like street fighter 1. And it sucks. The realistic moves don't translate to a 2d plane at all. Also the game is sllloooowwww. Maybe it's the emulation but I don't think so. I never played the genesis one until it was emulated on PC... I'd only played 1 & 2 arcade/PC versions. But the genesis version I found to be unresponsive & not really a joy to play. I don't think it's the emulation because other games in the sega bundle work just fine (like echo the dolphon... runs full speed).
JunglePredator: Playing it after playing the real virtua fighter is like getting slapped in the face. :-p
If you haven't played the real virtua fighter you owe it to yourself to do so.
They're not even similar. I was quite upset when I installed it after purchasing the Sega bundle (sale like 2 years ago) & see "viruta fighter 2" & getting... well that.
I'm sure someone will enter your draw however... it's just not something people jump on. You have to be patient. :-p
SolidSnale: Oh, I didn't know there were two versions :\
I played the one on Sega Saturn.
Well, this is the only available version on PC sadly.
Go buy the PC DOS of Virtua Fighter one. It's well worth it.
The Saturn one was decent... I tried this one soon as I got the sega stuff & it's not anything like the original.
