tl;dr Games can only have a max of 2 trailers now. Obviously aimed at all those AAA games like Destiny 2 that have a bazillion trailers before the screenshots.
Woohoo! I am so gonna enjoy Steam more now and visit the site more often!
Still 2 too many.
For those not wanting to follow the link, a game page on Steam will likely still feature more than 2 trailers. But only two trailers will appear prior to screenshots in the thumbnail gallery, so they're encouraging devs (etc) to review their trailers to ensure the two featured are the best picks to advertise their game.

So don't fret if you like the trailers: they're not getting deleted. They're just getting shuffled along a bit so customers can find gameplay screenshots easier.
I like this change.

Without this post I wouldn't have noticed :D
Good qol change. Anything that improves readability or decision making whether the game is for me is a welcome addition. Screenshots are cool, but so were the pictures on the back of a box from a different system/versions of the game & cinematics back then. I'll rather see some gameplay trailers, instead of 5 different intros and hype-campaigns as is often the norm with pubs of well known AAA titles/franchises.

Oh yes, especially VHS-Tapes and their cover/backside!
Pretty minor change, I agree, but I have sometimes found myself scrolling through quite a few videos to find screenshots when investigating a game.

My thought was immediately to Team Fortress 2 but it does appear they have 2 trailers and then the screenshots and then the rest of the trailers at the end
So we're now discussing improvements to other game stores here in lieu of any meaningful ones on GOG? =P

I think we would all be happier if we could discuss improvement to this store.

That's kind of a moot point though, since "improvements to the store" would still do nothing to address the underlying problem of which the premise of this thread, and also this thread's coming into existence in the first place, is merely a symptom: namely, GOG does not have a large enough selection of high quality premium games.

That is the main reason why GOG customers who dislike DRM still resort to using Steam anyway, and that would still be so regardless of much GOG "improves its store," unless GOG also improves its ability to acquire high quality premium games on a regular basis.

To improve the selection of games on offer (meaning with quality, not quantity) is way more important than "improving the store" is. Great games sell themselves, and in mass numbers, regardless of how imperfect the presentation of the store they are on might be.

It could just be a subtle nod to GOG that they might do well to follow suit. It is a nice little tweak to do to a store.

You'd have to ask the OP as to the whys and the wherefores of this post's creation, however. I read the linked page because, well, I was looking for something to do, not because I'm looking to shop there.
