silent49: They're getting so big now I almost feel disgusted to have steam installed on my PC's. By disgusted, I'm disgusted in its interface being so bloated. Could be me using GOG a lot more often recently and used to its minimalist interface. If PC gaming community didnt try to break every last DRM all the time and AAA's trusted DRM free I'd leave valve kinda fast. The sales are mediocre, steam bundle sites have a good bundle here and there but theres a lot of bundles populated with crap.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if steam direct doesn't really solve much, they'll just charge 1000 dollars or something to publish a game and let in who ever puts up the money. Fairly new to GOG but I noticed CD projekt red under their game publishing rules actually filter and seriously look at games before approving instead of just charging money upfront.
Valve is greedy and lazy and throwing tv shows into their system shows more of it.
TLDR:
Valve saved PC gaming from ruin caused by pirates, pirates created a monster
CD projekt red returned PC gaming to its glory, but it can't stop a monster
CD Projekt Red has nothing to do with GOG. CD Projekt Red are the development studio, they have zero say in how GOG is run.
Also, I fail to see how Valve offering more goods makes them lazy and greedy. Are GOG also greedy and lazy by selling movies themselves? I'll bet you money if GOG was offered the deal to sell big TV Shows you'd see them here in a flash. GOG has been mimicking Steam's decisions for years now.
