I really don't like these kinds of games of late that take advantage of 'tragedy sells' - To The Moon, Journey, Brothers A Tale of Two Sons and now this game and I'm sure there's more indie games like that out there. Brothers would have been a great game but the beginning and ending were so pathetic I was cringing. But I admit if I had knowledge and skills to create a game I would do it too! I would name it 'That Bastard, Ebola'.
"Ebola killed Kenny!!!"
"You bastard!"
Yeah, I can't believe some of the garbage I've seen people posting about this game and its creator(s?). Apparently some peoples' empathy goes out the window if you don't happen to have the right set of beliefs.

Or heck, apparently if you just dare to make a game they don't like.

The matter has nothing to do with empathy.

The criticism of this so called game has received is legit.

The dev has a big family and more kids on the way with a pregnant wife yet he acts as if its the end of the world if he loses one of his old age insurance policies cough cough I mean kids.

The garbage he made is not even worthy of being called a game. Its not fun, has no replay value and not even worth the full price.

Fairfox: I wouldn't let it concern you. They don't believe the crapola they write; it's just a feeble attempt at trying to stir the pot. So edgy!
I certainly hope so. Otherwise, they need some serious help.

It's not really a "tragedy sell" if it's a good game. That's like saying Edgar Allen Poe was a lousy writer just because his stories were sad.

I guess I can kind of see where he's coming from. It's easy to exploit tragedy as a cheap way to get some emotional reaction from players. But so long as it's "earned," there's absolutely nothing wrong with a sad story. As you imply, a lot of great literature focuses some sort of tragedy. Heck, even some classical literature is pretty exploitive about it (*cough cough* Charles Dickens).
Clearly the mere mention of this game draws in 13 year olds like Ian Watkins' tour bus.

I dunno...the 13-year-olds I've seen typically have more mental capacity...

Intellect and emotional maturity are two different things and nothing defines that difference like the onset of puberty.

Most 13-year-olds have more of both of those than some of these guys.
