Starward Rogue Bullet Extravaganza giveaway

Recently Arcen games released a new shmup, twin stick shooter, roguelite adventure game. I never played such a game before and it really pulled me in from the start. I really like the sci-fi setting continuing the story from The Last Federation but in an action filled setting. I think this could be the best game Arcen has made till now. Its definitely a game that gives you that “just one more turn” aka “just one more run” feeling. I don't know why but it always reminds me of movie Tron while I'm playing. Also the music by Arcen games composer Pablo Vega is really fabolous and reminds me of the pac-man era games music. Basically you play as a mech that has to fight through the Megalith ship in order to reach the final boss. Harder done then said. The game is full of enemies, bullet shots, mini bosses, bosses (usually 3 stages), shops and different types of mazes. The dungeon is procedurally generated from premade maps.

The game was made in cooperation with gamers and even some enemies, bosses and rooms were made by the community. I jumped on the beta testing wagon at the last moment and as such was given a free key for the game. I kind off don't feel right about getting the game for free so I'm making a giveaway for one gamekey on Humble. Currently available for Steam with the drm-free version being uploaded to Humblestore till the end of the week.

Rules:
- Must have joined gog.com before July 2015
- Some forum presence outside of giveaway/code drop threads
- Say I'm in
- You can enter for yourself or somebody else
- Winners will be decided by random number generation aka random.org.
- Giveaway ends on 30.01.2016 at 12:00 AM CET.
- one Humble key to give away (currently Steam + drm-free version available till the end of the week).

Can't stand its " music " .
All right... As a Japanese-style shmup purist I don't usually enjoy this sort of thing. I've also watched the gameplay videos by devs, and just by looking at the way they move their character and trivial bullet patterns they have trouble dodging, it is obvious that they are not very familiar with playing shmups, so it is questionable they'd be able to design a good one.

That said, and to my surprise, I really like what I see here. They seem to have avoided all the pitfalls made by developers that don't understand what makes classic Japanese shmups good; controls are tight, all bullets are dodgeable with sufficient skill and concentration, boss fights are intense, short and sweet. Arcen has a good track record, I guess the developers are smart guys and they could recognize and weed out the flaws made by others. I hate the guts of some "high profile" shmups (!) like Jets'n'guns and Tyrian, and just by watching a 20 min video of this game I already know I'd go back and replay this many times.

I have a feeling this game may really shine at higher difficulty levels. There is only one way to find out :) I'm in. Thanks & cheers.

Thanks for the giveaway... I'M IN

Love Arcen's stuff... and roguelites... wasn't even aware this was a thing until today!
While I'm not particularly a fan of shoot em ups, in fact I didn't enter a while ago because I'm not that interested in these games, maybe I'd join in order to show more interest for the rejected shmup and convince GOG to put it in their catalogue. So... I'm in.

Be sure to vote in this wishlist entry, everyone:

Thanks for the giveaway.
Me love shumps, but me already hath too many, so me in :P

Still Play the Exceed series every now and then.
Edit:I'd like to be in for Klumpen0815 if I may.

I purchased it at Humble yesterday in order to support Arcen.

I love Arcen's games, although this is a bit of a departure from their usual stuff.

Well this was basically made on one of the realtime battle versions from The Last Federation beta before it became a turn based battle system there. Its a small project that they made before they return to Stars Beyond Reach development now. They just wanted to make a fun game that doesn't take a lot of time and brings you back again and again :)

Also don't forget to vote for it :)

Voted!
I'm in. Arcen games are normally very interesting or add something new to an old formula. Think I will enjoy this one too.

Thank you for the giveaway!

The good news is, they got a bullethell fanatic (Misery) on the team to work on this game. So I wouldn't worry about bullet patterns variety, difficulty or tight controls.

Not in, btw.

But kudos for the giveaway and good luck to the participants.
It's nice that you are doing youtube videos. I went looking for some yesterday, and I just found 2 of them, both by the dev.

Edit:

Watched some of the videos, I'm not in.
