Doesn't feel like a SPG game, more like Freelancer or Galaxy on Fire.....

Not saying that's a bad thing, ofc
How is it? Is it better than Warlords? Is there also a cockpit view or only view from behind ship?
Honest question for anyone who has this - the early looks had the lead character as the most unlikable arrogant jerk ever seen in a video game. Like, spectacularly bad, actually did not want to play the game because of it.

Is that still the same, or has the main character actually become someone you don't want to punch through the monitor?
GOG Galaxy is refusing to let me download this game. I can't install the game through Galaxy, and it gets perpetually stuck at 10MB if I try downloading offline installers.

Someone at GOG's asleep. Poke them with a stick or something!

I haven't done much with it yet (bought it InDev a while back but been very busy) but I think they're going for Freelancer: Borderlands Edition this time around.
Not sure what to make of this. The trailer was ridiculously bombastic though.
it'd be great if you didn't shit animated images all over the store page. autoplaying videos, on loop by default, should die,
Impossible to download the game via Galaxy...well done!
But I'm lucky,I can DL the offline installer ^^

Playing SPG 2, and spending 10+ hours grinding to get to 15th level only to be finding myself dying nearly all the time suddenly, makes any game difficult to want to pick up for this.

Level doesn't say much, you also need a bigger ship and more guns.

Yeah, the fault of the game is no hand-holding. And I mean it, it's a fault, because nobody tells you to get a better ship, much less how, and manuals are so 20th century...

Once you know what to do, get a suitable ship, and more and bigger ships, it's smooth sailing. Played through the game, great fun.

Easier said than done.

You need 20,000,000 credits, and you have to be of Lieutenant.

Yet when i go to upgrade ships (that i qualify for), it is actually inferior to the one i'm using (starting as a warrior/pilot i got a good starting ship).

I don't know.

IIRC, the best strategy is boarding other ships. Once you are able to do that properly it's way easier to get money and to progress in general. That and getting them to stations with a tractor beam and selling them (not sure about this one though - played ages ago)

That's correct. It's the best way to get better ships and money.
Version 1.0 - congrats! But does that mean we finally get capital ships back in the game? Did I miss that announcement somehow?

Or is this still yet another dogfight simulator?
