Wondering the same.

amrit9037: Relax everyone, it's a April 1 joke!!!
The announcement was on the 3rd not the 1st though. :)
Why do i get a negative vibe coming from people talking about this game?. Whats the go with that? (im only interested in singleplayer - not multi)

The April Fools announcement was delayed due to focusing on more pets.
I wonder if perhaps Terraria has simply set the bar too high by now, but I'm still keen to try it out.

Next to Terraria everything sucks.

Basically it's fun but REALLY REALLY clunky and I was kind of hoping they were going to iron some o f that stuff out for a final release.

Well, focal failure, largely. The promised a core game and then decided to go on wild tangents. Recently, they made a blog about moving platforms and in this announcement post, they've flip flopped on how many features now? There's a worrying lack of central planning that you'd expect from a game like this. What they want, how they want it, and such.
I sincerely hope that Terraria gets an update one day that extends the space level, which includes things such as a sky dungeon and moon(s). And one that extends the ocean while they're at it. But to be fair, the game does have a ridiculous amount of content already. I just managed to defeat Plantera with a friend, and it feels like it took us ages to get to that part of the game.

hyperagathon: It's the announcement of the preparation for 1.0. There's still the announcement of the actual 1.0 date, then the announcement that it'll be postponed by three to six months, with finally the release date being pushed to Christmas 2018. Maybe.
So is it fair to say that Starbound is the Grimoire of 2D open-world crafting/survival games?

In Starbound you can build a survival bunker with what you're carrying. Grimoire comes out of a survival bunker carrying white supremacist tracts.

I've made that comparison before, and I don't think it's unfair as far as the game dev aspect goes. Nov 2015 they publish a post about how they're almost done, they just need to revamp basically everything. Now they publish a post essentially saying the same thing, but with pictures. Meanwhile, they still haven't fulfilled everything they've promised to backers (or at least said: sorry, can't do), there's no mention of endgame content, and most of the rest of the content is yet to be done if their claims about it are to be believed. I think I'll just stop paying attention permanently if I see another "we're revamping everything again" post. It's their version of "only x microissues remaining".
Sounds good

I guess it`s more Duke Starbound Forever like. :D
