I don't want a remake. I'm perfectly happy to play the original. I want a worthy sequel.

You mean he is anaphalactic (nut allergy joke!)

Sam Maggs, who was asked what her favorite Star Wars game was back in 2019. Her response: "Not KOTOR."

Yes, this will be fun. /s

I don't expect anything good from this.

Did you see the unofficial third game —— it's a mod, a "Total Conversion for KOTOR II". It was only released last year, so I was unaware myself.

Because Disney refused to endorse the games' expanded universe, I always expected them to do a remake of the whole series —— probably a retcon. The functional updates performed by Obsidian in the sequel make the first game feel very basic. (It's a shame that they were unable to match the franchise movie release schedule, and the game was so badly bugged upon release, otherwise the sequel would have been even better than the original.) The plot/s (especially the first) are exceptional and will attract all sorts of "I can do it better" types, which is pretty much everyone in the creative arts by definition. ;)
Don't know what to think, there is a small/tiny chance that it might turn up "good" but I wont hold my breath, not in 2021, not with Disney involved. As I have read only the only good news is that at least Bioware is not involved...

Who needs a remake, the original is still perfectly playable.

Actually, she isn't in charge. She is just one of the additional writers. But yeah, expect some "smashing patriarchy" cringe in some side-quest.
