Actually now that I read that summary I just blame the writers.

Seen it on DVD and yep its shit.

2/3 of those characters are dead and I have a soft spot for Laura Dern (cause she played in Blue Velvet, Jurassic Parks and The Master)

But yeah, the writers are bad.

Reading how they treated Luke really turned me off the movie and I didn't even see it in theaters. Going to get the 4k disc anyway for the collection so I guess I might be surprised, but that Luke stuff is a real bummer.

I enjoyed the hell out of the movie when I saw it in the cinema. Was proper sucked into the magic of new star wars film.. then a few hours after we left the cinema my brain was all waitaminute... DAMNIT. Then the darkside consumed me. I was very very angry indeed.

So many things about it now annoy me. The treatment of Luke's character for one and super Leia was beyond ridiculous. With that scene they totally missed a golden opportunity to kill the character off in a very emotional way, which would have prevented problems later down the line now that she is sadly no longer with us.
So much about the writing didn't make any sense.

I didn't like this film. Apart from the space battles it was awful. The fact that they turned Luke from a kind, selfless knight into some kinda cynical anti-hero was terrible.

I know a place where I can rent movies so I didn't pay much.

As to the movie itself, lets just say the things Force Awakens had going for it, it faltered badly here because I believe the director scrapped whatever JJ Abrams was trying to do for this Trilogy.

1 character in perticular, the only character I cared about and looking forward to has been destroyed in this second movie.

And no its not Luke Skywalker I am referring to. Its Supreme Leader Snoke.
