Breja: Maybe tinyE is jsut really strong with the Force and that way can understand animals. If there's one thing this movie teaches us is that there's a zillion Force powers we had no idea about. Plus, there were some talking force-sensitive animals in this season of Rebels, so maybe it's his cat that's actually one with the Force?
Oh? Or maybe its the Cheshire Cat and we're all living in Wonderland. Well, that would at least explain the pink Elephant on my shoulder, telling me I should just give up and take a nap...

Why not? Force comes from life (and no the other way round, Darth Traya), so sensitive animals are likely, a cat would be a dark sider for sure though. In fact, this would explain much. And yes, I once named a cat Vader.

About these movies, not watching them. Read the Legacy of the Force saga, and stopped with the post RotJ former EU then and there. And this has too many points in common. Including Darth Emo Idiot, massive classic character derailment, Suish writer pet characters, and plot points dumber than the Citadel Council in Mass Effect 2.

CATS ARE NOT DARKSIDE, they are middle ground. They do what pleases them with no affinity for any higher power/force good or bad,

For refrence: Bendu.

I like cats, but I've seen them hunt mice. They really love to play with them for long before they kill them. So they are naturally very cruel, though of course being animals empathy towards prey is not expected. Dogs on the other side is bite and kill. And Yoda said dark side was fear, anger, and agression. That last one cats have spot on.

Think the cat girl (Juhani) was cathar, most of her people were wiped out by Mandalorians during the namesake wars. In the kotor comics, Revan took that name after having a vision in the planet after the massacre. He also took the helmet of a mandalorian warrior who oppossed the killing and was killed for that.

you really know your SW.

You and me are now friends for life, regardless if you want that or not. :P

Oh hey, you or anyone else know how big, approx, the download for the KOTOR 2 finished/restored content mod is? And I've always had trouble getting the added droid planet to work even on good systems. That one is a separate download too isn't it?

An interesting read. I don't neccesarily agree with 100% of it, but there are many very good points brought up and well argued.

They are going with Ben Solo had darkness because reasons? Really? Even Jacen got it better, he just lost most of his IQ to buy what he was told.

TinyE, personally no idea about the kotor 2 mods, and replaying the game is still very far down my backlog. Also, the last few years of the Darkhorse comic EU were usually very good. Kotor, Legacy, Dark Times were my favs.

I honestly don't know what they're going with, and I'm not sure if even they know. It really doesn't feel like there is any plan behind the new trilogy. The Last Jedi almost feels like a soft reboot, still without much of a plan. Old characters are killed of without ceremony (Admiral Ackbar deserved better!) and new, totally unnecessary characters are introduced (admiral Holdo). Insanely enough, the first two episodes of the original felt much more coherent, despite the fact when the first one was made there were no plans for making more, and the second was set three years after the first while Last jedi starts immediately after Force Awakens.

The restored content mod setup I downloaded came in at about 60 MB. You are correct the droid planet is a separate download and don't feel bad. I could never get it to work right either :P

Breja: I actually found the divided word of mouth encouraging. Force Awakans had almost only positive opinions, and it was a boring, bland nothing of a movie. This, at least, is somewhat interesting and I think the divided reception reflects that. It's full of flaws, I won't even argue that it's "good" (as evidenced by my long and incomplete list of complaints), but at least it's interesting. It will leave you with stuff to think about and talk about, and for me that in itself is a win. And besides, it's never a good idea to put too much stock in popular opinion.
Force Awakens was definitely a little TOO similar to the original movies, its goal being to bring us back to that feel and tone before moving on. I thought it was fine for that purpose, but yes I wanted more from the future movies. That doesn't mean I wanted a total rethink or change of direction though. Too often creators go from one extreme to the other, rather than a nuanced middle. From the spoilers I have read it seems like they just did a little too much expectation aversion, along with perhaps some structural issues in the plot.

It's hilarious when a guy who thinks child slavery is a-okay gets traumatized by a movie. Peak white male.
