This is just a curiosity question. Some time ago GOG introduced some new Star Wars games in their store, the Racer among them. Since then GOG promotes this particular game as much as possible, making it appear even among brand new games.
I wonder why is that?
True, I have played only a demo back in the days when it was new. The game was fun, but I can't believe the full version is any better and there are definitely better pieces to promote, either old or new, so why this one?
Probably because it's a sought after classic only available on GOG.

The Star Wars games showed up years ago.
Racer just got here a month or so ago.

ALSO, and this goes back to InkPanther's post, RACER has been notoriously buggy. It still has it's issues on a lot of systems, but for years it was pretty much unplayable on EVERYTHING. Add to that the fact that it actually is one of the better SW games ever made and you have a very in demand title that when advertised by a site is sure to bring new customers to that site.

GOG.com is the only place you can buy the PC version, hence it's heavy promotion.

As digital version... there's still eBay and co... and the adventure of getting the thing to work.

And also it's a pretty awesome game. Like a proper classic.
