May the 4th come to GOG.com!

Star Wars Day™ is near, a time when the world comes together to celebrate the long, long history of a galaxy far, far away. And so it is, once again we combine forces with Lucasfilm and Disney to join in on upcoming May the 4th celebrations the way we know best: with new releases, a classic Digital Premiere, and peecha chakka no wookie boonowa tweepi Saleo. Ho, ho, ho, hooo.

What do we have in store this week?

-- Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II - a new digital premiere. The famous live-action, FMV rail shooter returns - blast through the ranks of the Galactic Empire, revisit familiar movie locations, and experience the rebel assault. Both of the classic titles come in one DRM-free package for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux!

-- Collector's CD-ROM editions of: Star Wars™ X-Wing and Star Wars™ TIE-Fighter. The space-flight simulators finally become complete exclusively on GOG.com. The Collectors Edition, often considered the absolute re-release, combines upgraded graphics with the classic MUSE sound system, and a refined flight engine. It's a free upgrade to all of you that own it, and comes with every new purchase as well.

-- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy now on GOG.com. Are these the best lightsaber swingin', force-pushin' simulators ever made? Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

-- Two big bundles, with every remaining Star Wars™ game on GOG.com:
Blaster Bundle - with 7 titles including the upgraded Star Wars X-Wing & TIE-Fighter series, and more Lucasfilm games brought back into the digital world from old CDs and dusty floppy disks.
Saber Bundle - with 10 games at a flat 77% off, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Knights of the Old Republic I & II, the two Dark Forces games, and our two new completely new releases: Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast & Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Grab your blaster, wield your saber, and celebrate the days counting down to May the 4th with us! The entire shebang will last until Thursday, May 7, 6:59 AM GMT.

Does anyone know if the GOG version of Dark Forces 2 has the color problems with AMD-cards?
For me KOTOR II. But without buying games in bundle is discount not so high so probably will skip it.
Kerbal Space Program will have to wait, that Saber bundle is too great to pass.
Why should I care about star wars day, on GOG or anywhere else, when I could be at home playing Jedi Outcast?

MisterBlack: I liked Jedi Outcast more for single player, I won't spoil anything, but I would say the story and characters are superior to Jedi Academy. In terms of multiplayer I liked Jedi Academy more, but either way you can't go wrong with those games. They're terrific.

I agree. Jedi Outcast seems to be more mature in terms of story. As for multiplayer, Academy eats the whole series for breakfast :)

The proper order would be Dark Forces->Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight->Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast->Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

kresegoth: Just a little note, you skipped Mysteries of the Sith, the standalone addon for Dark Forces 2, which is kind of important before playing Outcast.
Ah yes you're correct, my mistake. I always forget about that one for some reason...
For any GOG staff reading this, you did a great job clarifying the situation on the X-Wing page (by updating the description and adding a note at the top of every review) but it looks like it has not been done for TIE Fighter since there are no references to the 1995 in the description and no note in the reviews.

Since the first review is mainly complaining about the lack of Collector's CD-ROM Edition, it might be a good idea to update that page.
Thanks - thoguh I wouldve preferred not having to buy Starfiighter to complete the sabre bundle. Should've put that into the blaster pack.

Ouch...I've been so good about not buying any of these, but KOTOR II is probably finally going to suck me in.
I was waiting for this, but the bundles/individual discounts are a little dissapointing. I like a 50% discount on Galactic Battlegrounds, but for that I must buy the complet Blaster Bundle (a whopping almost 40 bucks expense). Not too bad if I want all the games, but if I want only that one, I get a little 25% discount, not too much for a 5.99 game (I'll buy it anyway).

I would prefered more bundles with less games, that the two big ones featured.

Anyway, very good deal for anyone not having the most of the games.

This is the big news ? :( I was hoping today was the summer sale ...
Awesome releases, and an awesome sale! Picked up what I was missing of the Saber Bundle (Empire at War, Starfighter, Jedi Academy and Jedi Knight.) Thank you GOG and Disney!

Summer sale? In the middle of spring???

About the games: I didn't plan to buy any more Star Wars games, but the Saber Bundle is just too tempting. Well done, GOG!

And a big thank you to Disney and GOG for releasing the Collector's Edtions of X-Wing and Tie-Fighter!!!
Nice early May the Fourth celebration. Saber bundle price too good to resist.

That made 2 of us. I didn't buy the whole bundle either simply because I don't have a decent joystick at the moment. However, 25% off Galactic Battlegrounds was good enough for me too. If that bundle had a deeper discount, I would have gone for it.
