May the 4th come to GOG.com!

Star Wars Day™ is near, a time when the world comes together to celebrate the long, long history of a galaxy far, far away. And so it is, once again we combine forces with Lucasfilm and Disney to join in on upcoming May the 4th celebrations the way we know best: with new releases, a classic Digital Premiere, and peecha chakka no wookie boonowa tweepi Saleo. Ho, ho, ho, hooo.

What do we have in store this week?

-- Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II - a new digital premiere. The famous live-action, FMV rail shooter returns - blast through the ranks of the Galactic Empire, revisit familiar movie locations, and experience the rebel assault. Both of the classic titles come in one DRM-free package for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux!

-- Collector's CD-ROM editions of: Star Wars™ X-Wing and Star Wars™ TIE-Fighter. The space-flight simulators finally become complete exclusively on GOG.com. The Collectors Edition, often considered the absolute re-release, combines upgraded graphics with the classic MUSE sound system, and a refined flight engine. It's a free upgrade to all of you that own it, and comes with every new purchase as well.

-- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy now on GOG.com. Are these the best lightsaber swingin', force-pushin' simulators ever made? Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

-- Two big bundles, with every remaining Star Wars™ game on GOG.com:
Blaster Bundle - with 7 titles including the upgraded Star Wars X-Wing & TIE-Fighter series, and more Lucasfilm games brought back into the digital world from old CDs and dusty floppy disks.
Saber Bundle - with 10 games at a flat 77% off, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Knights of the Old Republic I & II, the two Dark Forces games, and our two new completely new releases: Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast & Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Grab your blaster, wield your saber, and celebrate the days counting down to May the 4th with us! The entire shebang will last until Thursday, May 7, 6:59 AM GMT.

Neither do I, but GOG will need all their tech magic to make the game working. Don't mess around with the ritual! :P
Argh I'm so tempted to get the saber bundle >.< but I must stay strong! the $22.44 can go into my savings for a new pc that can run the witcher 3... must stay strong

Thank you for these links.
Announcement says 50% off, but it's saying 37% on the sale page. 50% might be tempting, but at most I'd grab one or two based on reviews. Saber Bundle, I'm sort of on the fence about. 77% is a lot, but I seriously doubt I'd ever play $22 worth of stuff out of that huge bundle given the backlog I've already got, not to mention my day job...

So, uh, I guess I'll check tomorrow to see whether 50% or 37% was supposed to be correct.

The whole bundle is 37% off, but the discount is not flat. A half of the games included are 50% off. From the OP:
"Blaster Bundle - with 7 games up to 50% off"

The discount is not tempting for me, but I want only one game from the "Blaster Bundle" anyway.
I'm going to buy the "Saber Bundle" the next days though.

Wow, that's really dumb and meaningless. You can't get anything 50% off a la carte. It's either X% individually, or 37% of the whole. There is no 50% off any individual item in any meaningful sense. It's the dumbest marketing I've seen in a while.

While I disagree that is the dumbest thing, I'm glad these classic games are finally on GoG, but I do really wish the prices were more fair for individual purchases.

Going from ~$3 to $7 just because I don't want the 7 others is a huge let down, imho.

opticq: Do I have to play the previous Jedi Knight games to understand what's going on before playing Jedi Knight II or Jedi Academy?
I'm not entirely sure I would enjoy the games before those 2.
That interests me too, because I'd skip dark forces 1 and 2 ... no offense but they look kinda bad from the screenshots, especially dark forces 1 ...

Theyre great games though. Are you judging it on graphics? 1 is awesome. It's Doom + Star Wars. 2 is like Quake + Star Wars.

Out of all these I only have really* played Academy. While I think it nods to the previous stories I never felt clueless or the need to catch up.

*ie multiple plays; played about half of DF1 (does it has any connection to the others outside SW?) and had a look into the others but got bored too quickly.

Well graphics and gameplay, some of the reviews say the game play is outdated.

Well they re old school and nothing like modern fps. Graphics are outdated, but gameplay still holds up. Levels are open and force you to explore and figure out puzzles. Shooting is simple but satisfying. They are 9/10 games imo

Considering the games are FPSs and the genre hasn't really changed much (eg. Shooting your way to the end of linear levels), wonder where the "outdated" part comes in. Call of Duty doesn't get called outdated for being corridor shooters.
