May the 4th come to GOG.com!

Star Wars Day™ is near, a time when the world comes together to celebrate the long, long history of a galaxy far, far away. And so it is, once again we combine forces with Lucasfilm and Disney to join in on upcoming May the 4th celebrations the way we know best: with new releases, a classic Digital Premiere, and peecha chakka no wookie boonowa tweepi Saleo. Ho, ho, ho, hooo.

What do we have in store this week?

-- Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II - a new digital premiere. The famous live-action, FMV rail shooter returns - blast through the ranks of the Galactic Empire, revisit familiar movie locations, and experience the rebel assault. Both of the classic titles come in one DRM-free package for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux!

-- Collector's CD-ROM editions of: Star Wars™ X-Wing and Star Wars™ TIE-Fighter. The space-flight simulators finally become complete exclusively on GOG.com. The Collectors Edition, often considered the absolute re-release, combines upgraded graphics with the classic MUSE sound system, and a refined flight engine. It's a free upgrade to all of you that own it, and comes with every new purchase as well.

-- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy now on GOG.com. Are these the best lightsaber swingin', force-pushin' simulators ever made? Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

-- Two big bundles, with every remaining Star Wars™ game on GOG.com:
Blaster Bundle - with 7 titles including the upgraded Star Wars X-Wing & TIE-Fighter series, and more Lucasfilm games brought back into the digital world from old CDs and dusty floppy disks.
Saber Bundle - with 10 games at a flat 77% off, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Knights of the Old Republic I & II, the two Dark Forces games, and our two new completely new releases: Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast & Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Grab your blaster, wield your saber, and celebrate the days counting down to May the 4th with us! The entire shebang will last until Thursday, May 7, 6:59 AM GMT.

FrodoBaggins: GOG, I sincerely hope you haven't forgotten about all the wonderful ADVENTURE game LucasArts\LucasFilms have made. When are we going to see those?
...
Labyrinth
avatar
PaterAlf: As far as I know Labyrinth never had a PC release.
The point is, LucasArts\LucasFilm have done so many amazing ADVENTURE games that deserve just as much attention as Star Wars games.

So, GOG staff... when are we going to see those adventure games?
Damn, with all the hubbub created by another digital seller of games and me trying to get my games off that system, you come out with the awesome Saber bundle that's basically a lot of the important ones!

I'm going to blow a hole in my wallet by probably buying both, even though I can't justify the Blaster bundle nearly as much.
avatar
Pardinuz: You messed up the names. :p
Indeed. Fixed, thanks.
Man, the price point for the blaster bundle really killed it for me. All I want from that (that I don't already own) is X-Wing Alliance, but 10% off alone isn't worth it.
avatar
Zoidberg: Way to expensive for my tastes, besides I got some already on Steam and they don't all run really well, so...

At least Disney isn't pulling regionnal disparity in their pricing scheme (apparently), which makes them better than some indies in my book! :3

More SW on the catalog is nice though (original trilogy at least XP).

May the first you certainly mean. :P

darthspudius: the only game that doesnt play well on steam is dark force 2
That's Jedi Knight, right?
Nice promo ! Got the Saber Bundle.

Thanks GOG !

*shrugs* probably, I have only ever called it Dark Forces 2.
Can't do it, too expensive of a bundle for me at the moment.

I know and I agree, but unfortunately Labyrinth isn't one of them (or GOG has to start to sell C64 and Apple II games).

Would like to see some of the other games from your list though.
can't wait to watch Geordie do another all-nighter streaming machine. good times!
Thanks GOG & Disney! Now we're just missing Strike Fleet. ;)
Nice! Bought the Saber Bundle. :)

Plenty to play for now, but still hoping to see Shadows of the Empire here soon.

This time Geordy opted for a morning slot:
WEDNESDAY, April 29th:
6am GMT / 2am EST / 11pm PST: Waking up with Geordy: STAR WARS Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords with Geordy
and will play from 6am to 4 pm GMT.

But:
SURPRISE STREAM! Flaose plays X-Wing Alliance right now!

i'm looking forward to the release of indiana jones and the infernal machine. there is no way you guys aren't working on it or?
gog, i love you guys, but you just committed a bundle atrocity :P

the price for kotor i + ii are exactly right when they're in the bundle, when you unbundle them...that's too much money for 10 year old+ games. and i'm not at all interested in the other eight games. so. yeah. passing.
