UniByst: I dont know whether I should be more happy for you on your new job or the fact that EA has released an open beta for Star Wars Battlefront. Congrats to you on your new job!

darthspudius: Shame the beta wasn't that good. :P
Was the game optimized during the beta?

There were some bugs here and there in the menu's for me but yes it was very optimized.
I was really into the beta until someone told me there is no campaign. After that I'm less inclined to get it.

Oh no performance was perfect. It looks fantastic. But the controls were sluggish and there was a lot of cheating, aimbots etc.

Can't say I ran into any cheaters during the time I played but there were certainly people banned during the beta so I'm sure people were trying.

I'm glad there is no campaign so they can focus on the multiplayer part of the game. After all, that's the main business of Battlefront.

But what's great is that DICE/EA have loaded in a ton of assets that they can trade freely within the company. So a lot of the work in this game will almost definitely find its way into a gorgeous, exciting and mind-blowing 1-player adventure/RPG/action game.

For me, I'm just too far gone in tech to get anything new. So it's a pass for me. But maybe I'll be up on the tech for part 2.

I played on the first few hours and the aim bots were VERY obvious. There was a point 3/4 of the people in my game were booted. But even without the aimbot, bullet sponging was awful haha.
Aimbot

I played a little bit of it at a buddies house but we both got INCREDIBLY bored. The game has no personality. It has the look of Star Wars, for sure, but not the actual feel of it. No heart, no soul. Not a buyer. If you're part of the DICE team, im sorry you have to work for EA. Be prepared to have your spine ripped out and your soul trampled to death.

There is no place I rather be. :)

What do you mean by no heart or no soul?

I think he was referring to the game, and not the DICE. I have to say that the "Be prepared to have your spine ripped out and your soul trampled to death" is a bit harsh. When we look again, none of the things that itchy01ca01 has said would matter anymore since in the end, we all just work for a living no matter what.

P.S.: As long as you're happy working with DICE, I hope and believe that your spine would remain strong and your soul, would withstand any obstacles that death has to offer. :)
