That trailer is still more memorable than the two previous Star Trek movies.

It would have been just about the greatest thing ever, if after this crap it said "that's what all the studios want to make now... but this is Star Trek" and a 30 second teaser of something in the spirit of real Trek followed, with images of fantastic alien worlds and Pine doing the "these are the voyages" voiceover.

Craig is by far the best Bond protagonist in my opinion, I couldn't stand the other ones.
So as far as Bond movies go, the ones with Craig are still the only ones I consider worth watching.
However I still feel the writing is lacking, while Craig as Bond is refreshing, the writing is too plain and unremarkable.

Beyond what?
Beyond lens flares?
Beyond reason?
Beyond hope?

That didn't look or feel like Star Trek to me at all. I know that was the point, but eventually the studio is going to have to give up and realise that the people that like Star Trek and the audience that does not watch Star Trek are both going to be turned off by trying to appeal to the other.

I watched the trailer in horror yesterday. This might well be the first "Star Trek" that I'll skip.

You know something is wrong when Star Trek Into Darkness had a better trailer.

Is it Avengers, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Superman, Spiderman, X-Men?

You can say what you like about the old Star Trek movies.
They may be a bit trashy, but at least they are unique and distinguishable, even amongst another.

Spiderman vs a similar hero? Villain vs villain, like "joker vs luthor"? (I'm already ZzzZzzzZZz in here just thinking about it).
Things get nasty when everything's the same. Same outfits, same "good vs bad" deal - it's always this way- and different universe. What a boring scenario and YES, it's so saturated it makes my inner child cringe.

Battletoads meet Double Dragon? Ugh! :P

I know you are refering to the game, but don't give 'em ideas, they may actually rob those graves as well.

I can already see it coming:
Battletoads - The Movie 1-3
Double Dragon - The Movie 1-3 (as if the old Double Dragon movie wasn't bad enough)
Battletoads vs. Double Dragon 1-X

None of this could be any worse than the Green Hornet movie though.
It was like the same boring concept thoroughly dragged through shit.

Maybe they'll remake the old Mario Brothers movie into a trilogy and Bob Hoskins will rise from his grave to prevent it.

Well, Star Trek died when J.J. Abrams took it in his hands. Star Wars will die too, cause J.J Abrams took it also. So we shouldn`t hope for good SF-Movies from america anymore.
The only solution will be if the Perry Rhodan series will come to the cinemas at last. I guess that would blow the whole american SF scene into pieces! :-)

When I went to the movies to check the Mario movie I saw Bob there and thought "gosh, it's the guy from that movie Mona Lisa and he's Mario. Whoa!"
Yep. Poor ol' me. Yep, Mona Lisa ain't a movie for kids...

But I'll say it again: these hero flicks are more of the same, over and over.
And they'll keep destroying amazing universes on and on, trust me.

Like Batman, for instance. Heck, this dude is around for like 70+ years! Cartoons, movies, games, reboots, crossovers, endless memorabilia and costumes... better give him some rest or we'll see "Batman Vs Sir Mark Thatcher: 2004 coup d'etat" or "Batman and the case of the missing dildos" or something :D
Let this folk get out of the "stage of life" so others can shine. But not for more than half a century. Milking franchises and stuff for so long is... I'll stop here. :D
