It's been 10 years since the release of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl (release dates were 20th-23rd March 2007 depending on region), and I've decided to run a little giveaway to celebrate.
I remember when it was released - I hadn't been following its development & didn't know much about it but I saw it coming up for release and thought it looked really good, so I decided to buy its collector's edition. It turned out to be a good decision as it quickly became one of my favourite game series: I later bought the Russian collector's edition of Clear Sky when that came out (in addition to the regular UK retail release - there was no CE of Clear Sky released here) and the German collector's edition of Call of Pripyat (again, along with the UK release). And of course they were instabuys as soon as they were released here :)
As well as this giveaway I have also made some scripts to automatically build Linux Wine wrappers for these games. These games all run great in Wine and with my scripts playing them on Linux is easier than ever, providing an almost "native" experience with no Wine knowledge required. Download links and further information can be found in the thread in the STALKER forums: https://www.gog.com/forum/stalker_series/stalker_for_linux
Finally, the usual shilling for the Linux Mint beginner's guide I wrote: The "Try Linux" Repost/Rewrite (a "beginner's guide"). Take a look if you're interested in Linux at all; it's a lot better and easier to use now than people think :) Plus with Microsoft now blocking updates to Windows 7 and 8.x on Ryzen and Kaby Lake systems, now would be a good time to look into it if you don't want to be forced over to Windows 10.
Anyway, the prizes in this giveaway are GOG keys for:
> STALKER Collection (Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky & Call of Pripyat)
> STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl + Clear Sky
> STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl
To enter, simply post here listing what you're entering for in order of preference. Already have the STALKER games elsewhere? You can claim GOG versions here: https://www.gog.com/reclaim :)
The giveaway will run until Thursday 30th March at 20:00 UTC. Due to problems with downrepping in previous giveaways, the winners will *not* be publicly revealed unless they decide to do so themselves.
Rules:
- No rep requirement but I reserve the right to disqualify entries at my discretion.
- Winners will be selected randomly after the giveaway ends
- Each winner will receive one prize - whichever of the remaining prizes is their most preferred.
- Please only enter for games that you don't already have.
- Please only enter for games that your system can run.
- Please only enter for games that you're interested in, intend to play & won't just let rot in a backlog.
- Keys are for your own use only/not to be traded (except for leftovers/duplicates from multi-game keys which may be re-gifted but not traded)
- Anything not redeemed within one week after being awarded may be given to another entrant or reused for a future giveaway.
