I did it as well, stressing I'd buy their games if released DRM-free on GOG. But many of the questions were brutally set up. There were a lot of them that had no provision for you to explain your answers, and there were a number of questions where if they take what I answered at face value, they'll draw the wrong conclusion. Still, at least is was an opportunity to say "Yeah, there's a few of us out there that won't buy your stuff if you have it shackled to DRM, so bring it to GOG, for GOG's sake!

No kidding. Phew. Anyhow, answered all the questions, mentioned GOG once or twice, and emphasized that I have no interest in cash-grab DLC, micro-transactions or annoying DRM measures.

Now the rest of you have to do it as well, so it actually makes a difference, and I didn't just waste my time. :P

My written answer(s) were basically: "I will spend $20 on Mankind Divided if it didn't have DRM". That game is being sold for $5, Denuvo-laden.

Seriously, roll back the DRM once you start selling games at 50%.

I wonder if this means they might bring the original Life is Strange over or something.If this actually gets them to support GOG more anyway.

I get it, I'm normally pretty pedantic and would say that PC is the platform and GOG, Steam etc. are stores. But in this case it's worth reading between the lines as really what they want to know is where you're spending your money. If most of the games you're playing on your PC are from GOG then you're playing "on GOG" as far as they're concerned.

Just yesterday I saw a sale on Humble Bundle that drew my attention to Battlestations: Pacific and Battlestations: Midway that I was eyeing but forgot about. I bought them on the Steam sale as they were cheaper there than on Humble Bundle, after having found out they're not on GOG. Yet I had already filled in the survey and hadn't realised when I did so a. that I was still looking for Batlestations, b. that they are Square Enix games. I would love to have told them I want them on GOG, next to the newer Tomb Raider and Deus Ex games and Life is Strange (that I did tell about).

I approached this question pragmatically, ie. from my point of view it doesn't matter which they meant. I said yes even though I don't use Galaxy, and I don't consider it as a negative even if they now incorrectly think I am a Galaxy user.

If that makes them bring more Square-Enix games to "Galaxy", that will mean I can play them too, without Galaxy. So yeah, just bring more games to Galaxy, and I will play them without Galaxy. :)

(unless they are multiplayer-only games, in which case I wouldn't buy them anyway, Galaxy or not)

What if they want to know which client they can hook more users to, so they'd just be interested in bringing more stuff here if it'll require Galaxy, so GOG either will eventually cave to that as they did to everything else or they won't and SE will say they found no common ground in the negotiations and move on? The PC option, on the other hand, clearly means no client, just having the game on your PC, and then you can weigh in in the other questions to say you nevertheless prefer digital, not retail, leading to the conclusion of wanting it released at stores that don't require a client installed and automatically excluding the others listed.

First of all, I have no idea why SE would refuse to bring a game to GOG.com unless it required Galaxy. What's in it for them? (Remember, a client and DRM are not the same thing, in case your argument was that SE would have required Galaxy for DRM.)

Second, I have more trust into GOG than you seem to. I am quite sure GOG must have already declined quite many games to the store due to DRM, because GOG knows that is one of their most important, if not the most important, selling point when compared to Steam, Windows Store etc.

Third, if all else fails and GOG would really bring some single-player SE games with DRM to the store... then I guess I would simply not buy that game.

So in essence, I don't see how I could lose by answering the way I did. :)
