Hello, GOG community! I'm thinking about buying Life Is Strange Limited Edition, the new retail version of the game, and I have almost no experience with Square Enix games, except a for few titles from Steam.
Do Square Enix use any DRM with the retail release? Is there a big chance for Life Is Strange to join the GOG catalog in the near future?

EDIT: sorry I forgot to make this a question thread. If a moderator can change that I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I wanted to buy the physical vetsion of Rise of the Tomb Raider bevausr it does not mention steam on their store page.
It does however need steam, i'm guessing the same id for life is strange.
They have their Square-Enix Account that is required at least once on registration for some games. I do not remember having to use it on FFXIII or FFXIII-2. But FFVII definitely used it. So the answer is maybe.

Steam states that the original only requires agreement to the 3rd party EULA for Square Enix, but I have no information directly about the re release.
I've cancelled my order with Square-ENIX and raised a formal complaint.

I will raise issue with trading standards if SE don't get back to me.
Thank you for the answers, I guess I'll wait a little longer. I would really like to avoid a Square-Enix Account, and if it has Steam or any other kind of DRM, then they should say so in the system requirements "other section".
SE seem to be pretty big on DRM so I'd guess they at least require Steam.

I'm not buying any SE games in part because of that... but the other reason is the horrendous state they released the director's cut of DXHR in & *still* haven't fixed (and even lied about a second patch being planned to fix the remaining issues). http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=141049

Oh, and also the ridiculous pre-order scheme they tried to pull with DX:MD.

Either it is a Steam key or a key that needs to be entered on their website in order to retrieve a Steam key. The result will be a Steam key. I should receive my physical copy next week.

If you don't have an answer, don't hesitate to PM me to have one.

I know, the "augmented pre-order"scheme, and the season pass for games, like Tomb Raider. That was part of the reason for my question.

Do not forget the microtransactions in Rise of Tomb Raider and the new episodic Hitman. And the mess called Just Cause 3

Still boggles my mind that the original release is more technically competent than the DX, You can't even buy the original version anymore.

That's disappointing. I liked the Tomb Raider game I played recently on PS3, and with the new one being XBOX/PS4 only and with these, I will have to leave it.

The thing is...Director's Cut has all the bugs that were present in the original version before the final patch. So...it's even more mind-boggling how the hell did the DC came out as it came, when the bugs present in it were solved in the original version...Square definitely give zero frags on Q&A for DC.

Ah yes, and also JC3 uses Denuvo (and I wouldn't be surprised if all their upcoming games will use it as well).

The only way I'll buy any more SE games is if they release them here.
