Senteria: It's not really hack & slash. It's a typical PC rpg I believe. What I mean is that you don't hack and slash yourself but yeah you get my drift. Story is pretty non existent though which is a shame. However I really like the combat. Getting all kinds of equipment is pretty rewarding. It reminds me a lot of Darkstone.
I guess I've always described it as pure hack n slash, there is barely the semblance of a story, and it's certainly not a cRPG like Baldur's Gate or PS:T.

There is some ok humor but as stated nothing really famous
i really need to think long to get fresh good stuff from here
there were some really good series also in 70s 80s if someone knows the name Dieter Hallervorden
or Dieter Krebs
But newer stuff? maybe give the series "Pastewka" or "Stromberg" a try
much of the new stuff is little bit clumsy or just one of the dozen comedystars

I bought it 'cause I wanted to try it for cheap/free. I'm looking for a decent Diablo II clone while I wait for Diablo III to stabilize. Does Torchlight really suck that bad?!

IAmSinistar: Pretty much my reaction too. Sure, nice to get a free game, and nice I that I got one per round. But still, Torchlight, a game with free codes that people still can't get rid of. Rather mixed blessing.

There is that, yes. :)

Interestingly enough this is the first time I've gotten the "Hell Yeah" graphic with a free game. The first free game I got, which I already had, just went onto my gift list with no email address. The second went on my shelf. This one I had to put an address in since I owned it. Weirdness.

Am I the only one that keeps looking over their shoulder for the unspeakable horror? I feel it, like a black curse on my soul. I'm not even specifically waiting on anything anymore and I still fear it.

Torchlight is a great game. It's just a lot of people already have it one way or another. But for those who don't have it I recommend it.
