jimnorth: You fool!

You'll doom us all!

LeoLR: I tried to play FTL, once, during an offer.
My crew died on a horrible way.
I took that as a sign and I came back to read this thread.
You should retry it it took me dozend of hours just to finish it on easy mode. :D

Alien8n: YES! (Except it was the Speccy)

A game that defined a new genre at the time with isometric 3d maps, a style that lived on right through to the Baldur's Gate series.

musteriuz: I said Spectrum ZX88 oodles ago - didn't know the game though...
The reference was the game, as in the first part of my user name. There wasn't a ZX88 however, it was the ZX Spectrum 48K (although the Spectrum 128K was the better machine as it came with a built-in coffee cup warmer)

Stilton: All right everyone, its party time. Grab your favourite drink, your best game and your PC and be round at my place in ten minutes. I've got plenty of plug sockets and if we run out of chairs just sit on the floor. About time we met face to face is the way I see it. No begging off or you'll owe the rest of us a game. Right, get your skates on!
avatar
Red_Frog: I'll need more than skates, unless I cross at the north pole.
All right, phone a cab and I'll pay the bill...
avatar
vulchor: Gonna be a hell of cold, wet skate through the north Atlantic.
avatar
Stilton: So put a coat on - no excuses!
Not sure putting a coat on will save their PCs though :)

A coffee cup warmer, hey? Maybe they knew about the upcoming insomnia sales...

Make it a two seater jet ski so I can bring Red_Frog with me.

Never heard of it, looks neat though, groundbreaking for its time for sure. Unfortunately, Sinclairs weren't really available on this side of the pond.
Mornin guys, good to see that I didn't really miss anything. What's Smugglers like? Seems like a tbs version of a sort of game I've been wanting.

Well, they gotta skate on something...

I grant you there might be one or two logistical problems, but dammit mankind has put men on the moon. A quick jaunt half way around the world shouldn't be a problem.
avatar
Kamamura: Anyone cares for a quick review of Smugglers? Is it worth playing?

I know it probably cures cancer and rescues lost relatives, but... seriously.
avatar
Alien8n: No it doesn't, but for every game downloaded a Justin Bieber fan gets killed by a Nordic black metal fan.
So tomorrow we will read of some mysterious fatalitys amongst bieber fans
*yawns* My eyes are already starting to hurt and I'm not even home yet, this is not a good sign xD
originally 16 k then when the 48k came out they sold upgrades in memory

Timex held a license to make them, but for some idiotic reason built them in such a way that none of the UK games would run on the US built machines :/
