Coelocanth: Which ones are you waiting for?

Khajiin: Quest for Glory 1-5, Gobliins PAck, Capitalism 2 but I still have some hope left :/
I'll keep those in mind. :)

Dajjer: I'm not going to try and convince you but I beg to differ. As Freud once said "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." And I would argue in Syberia and Longest Journey it's simply a matter of the protagonist being a woman. I played both games and both are in my top 10 Adventure games of all time. Both games dealt the protagonist not using her feminine wiles, but just her intelligence (or rather our intelligence). Syberia is a great game worthy of its regular price.
That is only fair, I am passionate about my opinions, but I don't force them on anyone. Games are like wines, whiskeys or rums - some like them sweet, some like them dry, and taste tends to change and develop with time.

Kamamura: If you like Quest for Glory, I highly recommend a free indie game in similar style called Heroine Quest. It won numerous indie awards last year.

http://www.crystalshard.net/hq.htm

Incidentally, it also features a female protagonist that I don't find annoying at all ;-)

It's a superb game, my daughter liked it very much, and it draws a lot from Norse mythology.

You can also find it on Steam for free.
+ for that, looks good. I will not install Steam for any reason though, so here's a wish if anybody is interested. I just added my vote!

Requires a steam account. :( And you cannot even hope for the linux version now that steam is on linux ...

Alien8n: Right, sorry I'm late back on, came home to some really bad news.

As far as I can tell no one has got part 4 of my user name. So here's the biggest giveaway clue...

It's a game. It was for a home computer built by the same bloke who invented the calculator.
Wasn't the calculator invented by William S. Burroughs?

Stilton: And so twilight descends upon Olde England and the country's insane gamers prepare for another night of frantic key-tapping and jolly banter. It is a quarter to nine here on a cool peaceful evening and I'm oddly invigorated by the prospect of no sleep (I still haven't put my head down - a personal record, I think) and copious quantities of slider-gazing and hoping for that ever elusive freebie. I still haven't bagged one, but as they say its the taking part that counts. Prepare your weapons, the summoning is upon us!!
+rep just for this post stilton
i "almost" get teary-eyed and not just because the (for me) third insomnia night starts

Khajiin: anyone interested in buying like 500 copies of smuggler so we can get rid of that game? :D
