If you like Quest for Glory, I highly recommend a free indie game in similar style called Heroine Quest. It won numerous indie awards last year.

Incidentally, it also features a female protagonist that I don't find annoying at all ;-)

It's a superb game, my daughter liked it very much, and it draws a lot from Norse mythology.

You can also find it on Steam for free.

Khajiin: Quest for Glory 1-5, Gobliiins Pack, Capitalism 2 but I still have some hope left :/
every time someone says "Gobliiins pack" the main theme from the flying ship level of goblins quest 3 immediately starts playing in my mind ^_^

It's true! it's very much in the spirit of classic QFG. I guess my only nitpick would be that the protagonist is voiced rather than having a cool narrator, but that's only because I have such a fondness for Hero's Quest etc ... It''s quite fun, and it's free : D
