Getcomposted: Hi, everyone. This is also my first post to the forums. I just wanted to thank all the people that have been compiling and keeping lists of all the games. They are much appreciated! So... Thanks!
Welcome! I was in a similar situation where I was a GOG member for many years and bought games but never checked out the forums. There was an event earlier this year where someone made a game just for a GOG event with game codes hidden in it to giveaway (I think it was Tallima). It was a blast. Made me realize what a great community there is here and I've enjoyed the forums since!
Who's that idiot in the beard and helmet.....

Oh, its me!

jackthejerk: I still have my win 3.1 install disks
For what?

011284mm: I guess up next is Theme Park.

jackster79: Hope this is the case - would give me a chance to snatch something else off the wish list before I have to turn in.

Not the one of the main ones I wanted, but any success cutting this giant list down is a good thing.
How far have you gotten with that exactly? You said you had 187, if I recall correctly (If I'm wrong, blame the sparse sleep).
Hey guys, can someone explain DRM Free to me?
I bought Trine 2 but it doesn't get me an option to retrieve a steam key, I just want to know whether it's compatible with steam users...
Is there a list of what has happened so far in round 3 (or better still, what is left)?

vulchor: I'm really surprised that, even with a 90% discount, Trine 2 isn't flying off the shelves like I thought it would be. The game is beautiful (never played it, as I'm not that into platformers, but I picked it up just now).
avatar
Tarnicus: I'm not into platformers either but games like Braid and Trine have introduced me to a genre that I suck at but they are works of art :)
Braid was a rare treat, a platformer that innovated and made me feel like a little kid playing Mario for the first time. I'm hoping I can a similar experience with Trine. If not, at least it's pretty.

Tarnicus: I'd tell that story in the pub and watch every guy (and some girls!) squirm and then offer to show the scar to any girls that showed disbelief. I didn't go there but had fun offering and watching the expressions people responded with :)

HypersomniacLive: Sooo, if one would take you up on your offer would you go for a public demonstration? ;-P
lmao don't remind me of New Year's Eve 1999 - it was the end of the world(again!) and one hell of a festive evening. My best friend and I for some reason thought that flashing our arses and dangling tackle in front of a packed pub for I cant remember how long (at least a few minutes of some thumping dance song) was the way to see in the new year lol
Do we have a list of what is left to go for the final round?

HypersomniacLive: Please remove this link, that's not a reputable source for old games.
Alternative site link to old dos games which have a good reputation.

HypersomniacLive: Is Silverlight open source? If not then it's exactly on the same level with Adobe's Flash and this new Mozilla-mported-from-Adobe DRM code.
avatar
vulchor: The difference being that Firefox offered a choice. Because Silverlight is a plugin, you didn't have to use it. Now that the code is built in, people won't necessarily know that the content they're playing is using DRMed proprietary code, even worse because if they're using Firefox they might be inclined to believe that it's not based on Mozilla's reputation of being open-source.
Exactly wrong.

Firefox is still offering a choice. So far, most of the stuff I'm seeing here is based on third party opinions. Check out the original Mozilla piece. https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/05/14/drm-and-the-challenge-of-serving-users/

Also, try this for a simplified look at how it will work. http://www.engadget.com/2014/05/14/mozilla-bends-on-drm/

craig_ethan_123: Anyone has a code for Trine 2 they don't want?
Why would they have an unwanted code when the game is still up for sale????
Geez

This was posted just before Trine 2 appeared.
Just noticed I actually have a Hammerwatch checkout tab opened still, wonder if it still works?
