trentonlf: If you decide to buy a game to gift someone do you just email yourself the key and pass the key to them?
Correct, that is exactly what you do :)
(Or as Foxworks just stated, didn't know you could do it that way as well)

New to the forums, So can someone quickly sum up the meaning of when you refer to a game as a Keaner?

donsanderson: Just click the + button in the top right of their post.
Enough people do this and they gain a rep point. ;)

xjay73: Thanks... so I guess I should be hitting "+" ... I can't imagine going back through six thousand posts... lol
No worries, the people here who do the most seem to not care about a number.
We know who they are and they are aware of that.
The whole 'rep' thing is a pain in the butt to tell the truth.
Just say thanks. ;-)

Niggles: *looks at Democracy 3 hmmmm*

Alien8n: Yeah, I know it's one of the more expensive games (still, under $10) but it's the one game my daughter really wants. Plus I checked my balance earlier, I'm more than good for it :)
Not sure about her tastes in games ;).But at least she plays them right?. Im sure you will have people looking out for this game for you ^_^

Ungunbu: you have my public gratitude -- after all seems like begging multiple times pays -- LOL :p

Tarnicus: It definitely doesn't. Let me illustrate:

Scenario 1: Continually beg and maybe get a few games('a few' could be 10, 20, etc), give nothing back and become known as a leech. Sure do what others do, create multiple accounts, manipulate rep and make that your "game". It's quite a lonely one and you'll "get" what you've asked for, i.e a bunch of codes to games that don't have much tangible value(depending on your values in life).

Scenario 2: Participate in discussions(which I've seen you do) helping others where you can, grabbing games for them when you are able to and being part of a community. Notice how many newcomers from this sale have said "Wow I've never seen an online community like this!" and words to a similar effect. There is a reason for that. This community has been built with love, starting with those who created GOG and the wonderful members the nature and purpose of this site attracted, which was to provide a service for DRM free games(originally resurrecting the classics on modern machines and continuing to support them) at a reasonable price. It was created due to a LOVE of gaming. That fostered and nurtured this community. Becoming an active member of this community(and I've had a few breaks for months but for some reason people remember me...) is worth FAR more than you'll ever get from begging for a few games.

The choice is yours :)

I understand that there are language and cultural differences with members on this site and that can lead to confusion about what is "appropriate" (differs from person to person) but I can guarantee you that already you've rubbed people up the wrong way by continuing to beg and then revelling in your "loot".
Well said, and thanks for taking time to write this.

Jack Keane 2 lasted for many, many, many, many hours during the other insomniac sale.

vulchor: I will if I don't miss it a 3rd friggin time. That's what I've been waiting for, I'll snag you one.
avatar
Alien8n: Cheers, in that case I hope you get yours for free
I haven't gotten a free one yet in either insomnia sale, so I'm crossing my fingers XD

She's really into sim games, Sims3, Banished, SimCity. She's playing Shelter at the moment (not this exact moment, she's asleep in bed).

Someone needs to gift you a game out of respect for that awesome post.
Aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwww maaaaaaaaaan I had really hoped that QfG and Deponia came on during the day but it's 2:50 am here and I have to call it quits for today and grab what pitiful amount of sleep I can before I have to get up at 7 to go to work.

Dammit.

Oh well maybe there'll be a Keaning of some game or other so I won't miss them. (Or maybe some kindhearted GoGetter picks them up for me to be reimbursed afterwards?)

Either way it's been a crazy fun sale and lurking about in this particular thread has made me both happier and more appreciative of the GoG community. You're an awesome bunch!

Night!

In the last Insomnia sale, round 3 had a lot of copies of Jack Keane 2 and also because it went off late in the night for much of the world, the sale for that one game lasted almost 5 hours. So a Keaner is a game that takes a long time to sell for whatever reason (too many copies, weak discount, previously on sale many times, low demand, etc).
anyone updating the list?, I went to eat dinner when gomo was still up and don;t know if i have missed anything good
