Spectrum_Legacy: I can confirm that after you click buy and proceed with your transaction id, the game stays reserved for you couple of minutes at least, even if the sale ends and next game is on. In my case it was around 5minutes into next game iirc.

Tarnicus: Yeah I've done the same. Unsure of the time limit but I've had that happen with a couple of games so far.
My suspicion is that completed purchases make the counter go down, but there is "grace code" that also honours any in-progress cart, at least until it times out. That would keep the customers happiest, and actually net GOG a few sales over the stated number. (Though I believe they also have to negotiate those numbers with the publishers, likely with some wiggle room.)

So far, it's sold one third in 8 minutes, and sales usually slow down towards the end... I can't be sure, but it seems possible that you could make it back if you leave right now.

No guarantees, of course...

It does. At least from my experience as I saw one deducted the second after I clicked buy now before my gift screen ready.
this needs to be put into mondo's calculations, as 10+ gifted copies of dragon commander, for example, do make a difference
