Pidgeot: What the hell, I bought 11th Hour as well.

Probably won't get around to playing it until I also eventually pick up 7th Guest, but it's not like I don't have enough games to choose from until then.

Nope, it hasn't shown up in round 3 yet.

DiscipleJF: fanks Pidgey, I'll have her look out for it today. :)
I ended up getting Papers, Please from that other place (yes I mean Humble Store) at +$2.67 more than here because I didn't realize then that it'd be back here for another round. Thanks thread, don't know what we'd do without you. If you can get it, do: it's not so much "fun" as a game but an interesting, emotional experience.

I'm hoping that I can be around for FTL's "last chance" because it's been on my wishlist a long time.

DiscipleJF: Dayum picture! You scary!

I'm running on lack of sleep and too much chocolate. Haha.

Tarnicus: lol yes I was trying to put on my best "I'm going to cleave you in two!" look, which was almost challenging given my girlfriend took that photo
Aw you love her. :D

deleuz: I'm just glad FMV gaming died. These were not good games, imho, they just dazzled people by how many CDs they could ship. Bad acting, bad fmv, boring/bizarre puzzles, lackluster story, horrendous UI. In some ways, I think 7th Guest and 11th Hour are far more "dated" than games like Wasteland or Starflight.
FMV was horrid! Likewise I'm glad it is a thing of the past and agree wholeheartedly about how those games age compared to the classics you mentioned.

What about Voyeur? That was an FMV game. :)

Did you get your copy of Aarklash?

Cyberevil: Seems like this was up before I left the house today.. how long has 11th hour been running?
About 2 hours.

I had a steam key for FTL laying around, look in your PMs for it :-)

Brutal. I'm guessing it will still be up past 10am (EST) ... I guess that's good as I'll be trying to get some tickets online for a concert in September... Is it me, or have they started selling concert tickets further and further in advance? Fleetwood Mac has already sold out and they get here after Chistmas!

HypersomniacLive: Nah, don't be afraid, it's obviously too rusty to inflict any damage. And look into those eyes, definitely the eyes of a sheep - and I don't mean a sheep in disguise. ;-P
*grins sheepishly* I don't know what you mean...

grimgroove: Not the greatest fan of FMV gaming either, mind you, and it definitely doesn't have its place in today's new game racks. But it does have a place in gaming history and I don't think its fair to crefer to FMV-gaming as if it were a genre, because it isn't. Some games using FMV were bad, some of them were good. Granted, the good ones were rarely good because of their FMV and rather despite of it, but still. A good FMV game that springs to mind is the second game in the Gabriel Knight series.
And while the acting is often lackluster, it can be enjoyable just because of that. In the case of The 7th Guest it wasn't so appalling as to pull me out of the game, but it was funny in some cases.
Sometimes the cheesiness in FMV adds appeal to the game. For example, I really liked the FMV sequences in Crusader: No Remorse, especially the news anchor Trina Jenkins. The way she delivered some of her lines and expressions was cheesy but in a way that was totally in line with a propaganda news network. The only FMV sequences that felt bad where to ones with Shannon Brooks, to me, her performance was just too forced.

Tarnicus: YAY I GOT AARKLASH!!!
Glad to see you made it.
I, of course, was sleeping. Lazy me.

If i may agree here...
but what about such games like Rebel Assault or Novastorm,
I think they have still their right of existence... - of course they have not much of bad acting just playabkle actionmovies
still hear the novastorm soundtrack sometimes

I got my only freebie yesterday and lost it, but, it showed me how the freebie system works.
Just before I went to sleep I thought I would check how things were going on my tablet, Children of the Nile was on offer I had wanted it but missed it before so I clicked it and it came up as free but, then the problem occurred, I found i wasn't logged in to GOG I tried to log in but after 15 seconds or so a pop up said I was too late and I had lost it.
It would seem that freebies are just a random happening and depend entirely on luck not on what you have already purchased or how much you have purchased just when you click on buy, there may even be a a piece of software that stops the same account holder constantly clicking on each offer just in search of freebies.
I just don't understand how I got either message as I wasn't logged on.

Yes and then some! :) Thanks for checking. The funny thing was that my browser crashed with 30 copies of Evil Genius to go, and I thought "I bet Aarklash is next" and it was :)

I must make a similar list in Office Calc for my self. :D
