JMich: Let's assume she has $1000 to spend, and I get 1% of the profits for myself. That means I get $10 from one of them. I assume the sale would have about 20.000 people, so even at $1 from each, I rake in $20.000. Why is that something to not like?
Hell, you can even pay for the shoes yourself, and have her thanking you for making money ;)
You wont get 1$ for each, you will pay the whole sum for each.

There would be a way to tell that those effects are from insomnia? So we'd be able to get a better understanding of the reasons for their behaviour?
